Making a rod for his own back springs to mind. Not sure on the % and cant be arsed to go and work it out, its not worth it, but more often than not, a manager will overachieve with a team, morale will be through the roof, it doesnt quite go to planthe year after, "Sorry, Mr ....., Thank you for all you have done last season, but its not quite working out this season, so we are going in a new direction, Bye."

Its the nature of football I am afraid, I am not just getting at Newcastle or Pardew, if Man City dont get top 4 next season (doubtful but it could happen) then Mancini would not be there, Christ most sunderland supporters think the sun shines out of MON`s arse, but if we start off worse than we did last season, most will be calling for his head, or we finish 17th and just avoid relegation with less than 40 points, most will not be happy at all.

Its football and the world we live in I am afraid, If you think Alan Pardew is immune from the sack, then hmm, no one is immune to it, just depends on how badly **** turns out for individual clubs.

Honestly who cares, I dont even know why you are arguing this, like I said its my opinion that Alan Pardew will be the 1st manager sacked next season and thats all it is.

If he is he is, if not then he is not, its pretty much that simple, but to have an argument over 2 pages is silly.

It's a forum, you expressed an opinion and I'm picking your brain on it. i think that's healthy personally. I don't think the situation is comparable to Man City finishing outsdie the top 4, our expectations have been well managed.

well lets wait and see, but for me he is still a prime candidate to go next season.

Last season March 17th before you played Norwich, you were 6th, 2 points behind Chelsea, 8 behind Arsenal, 9 behind Spurs, 7 ahead of us.

6 games, and 6 wins for you later 24th April you were 4th, 4 ahead of Chelsea, 3 Behind Arsenal, 3 ahead of spurs, 18 ahead of us.

No one apart from the top 2 could hope to keep up with that form, which is the rod on his back for me.

Great last season, may not be so great this season, a sloppy defeat, where you got a sloppy win last year (before you bite my head off Wolves away as an example) could be the difference.

Fat Mike is still the loose cannon. He's been fine since he started leaving well alone, but can he keep his nose out and leave the football to Pardew and his team? Looks like he may have learned his lesson by now, but you never can tell...

Toon won't sack Pardew, he's the yes man Ashley wanted, and the fact he's done a good job has just been a bonus.

He's as safe as anyone in his job as it stands, he MAY leave if someone else offers him a job with less constraints (his everyone has their price talk will stick in his throat..), but in reality, he is unlikely to get a bigger club than Newcastle.

I feel he'll remain long term, and do a very decent job (although I agree they will struggle to match last season).

Pardews entire managerial career sees him screw up between season 2 and 3. He has previous history of starting well at clubs then dropping the ball after a couple of years.

The craas will now expect a top 4 challenge and 2 good cup runs, or else they will be giving David Craig some sleepless nights to tell any one who gives a **** they are not happy.

Finally, common sense. As I have said, sacking Pardew would benefit no one

We have expectations of top 8 and a cup run, show me one mag that has said we are aiming for top 4 and 2 cup runs, if not, stop lying cos that's all it is, bare faced lying to try and make yourself sound clever and it really doesn't work.

More straw clutching from the mackems here I see, the more incorrect predictions you make about us the more foolish you look. This is why most of our fans generally keep our mouths shut to avoid these things coming back and biting us on the arse instead of spouting **** about revenge and next season this next season that.

"Mags are just on a lucky streak"
    "Their bubble will burst"
"The extra games in the Europa will cripple them"
    "Catts for me like"

And many more, we could make a compilation.

Bloody hell, talk about rewriting history?

I'll happily let Pardews record speak for itself. He doesn't last in jobs more than 3 years and the pattern of good starts followed by huge slumps has been repeated in all his previous jobs.

BTW, listen to local radio station phone ins to hear deluded craas. I heard one value Ben Arfa at £20m last night and he isn't even a regular player. Lol

Deluded. Best sell them now imo while they have all performed well.

Pardew hasn't managed a club like Newcastle before either. That's not me bigging my team up, it's just fact.
All these predictions of how we will struggle in the league because of Europe as well. Let us qualify first eh before you start mapping our season out for us. Would be **** on us if we never made the groups and give you lot a rod to poke us with but it will also **** all over your predictions. Presumption is the mother of all **** ups as has been proven in the past by many a bold statement on here.

Well you think the bidding should START at 15 million for Sessegnon, so that makes Ben Arfa worth at least 20 million as anyone without bias will say he is clearly the better player, just ask fans of other clubs.

Who's to say in the current market that Ben Arfa isn't worth 20 million though? He had a cracking end to the season where he scored about 5 goals and got about 5 or 6 assists, you can tell the guy has talent and will be special will a full season under his belt.

I personally think 20 million is too high from the little we've seen of him since coming back from injury, but I bet someone would pay it.

Also he is now one of the first names on the team sheet, the only reason he wasn't a "regular" earlier in the season was that he was coming back from a double leg break, so Pardew being the good man manager that he is decided to ease him into the starting lineup, and it paid off dividends, hence Ben Arfa's end of season form and his full France squad call up for the euros <ok>

Might as well reiterate this... how's anybody making predictions before you know what squad you're heading into the season with?

Currently, Chelsea are on course to finish outside the top 4 because they have no decent strikers. Is Torres going to start whipping in 30 a season all of a sudden? Is Sturridge going to get 20+? I doubt it, but because of a few headlines and one very promising looking midfield acquisition they are all of a sudden City's main challengers.

Newcastle's manager getting sacked will depend on how well his squad performs and to predict how well they'll perform you have to know who they're going to have in their squad, at least. One thing I will say is Ashley gives not a flying f*ck about that club, and if he gets a good offer for a player on August 31st he will accept it regardless of the consequences it has on the Toon's season.

My favourite manager for the sack is a total gimme, Brendan Rogers. Totally thrown to the wolves if he doesn't win all 4 trophies after 3 weeks in charge.

Fair points but have to slightly disagree with the point about Ashley not giving a ****. A couple of year ago I would of said that but analysing his decidisions regarding how we conduct our transfer business, I can't really fault him. If he does sell for big money, the initial feeling will. Be disappointing, but the proof is in the pudding. We are by far and way in a much stronger position on and off the field than what we were before he came in. Every action has a purpose these days, even if sometimes we strongly disagree with his methods.

My thoughts exactly, my best mate belongs to the crass, he feels the same, but the league won't really be as bigger target i except, they'll want to succeed abroad and that will make their season great, or a disater

Put our point over at the end of August if we qualify.
