Haven't got a clue who he is, but apparently we have made a £12.8m bid for him. Scored 21 goals and got 9 assists in 36 games last season for Montpellier, which is a very good record! That's a lot of money however, and is a big risk considering he's foreign, and could take time to adapt..
This is the kind of stuff we want to hear about. Lovin it! Hughes prepared to write Giroud cheque! QPR in ambitious bid for Arsenal target By SAMI MOKBEL PUBLISHED: 23:04, 6 June 2012 | UPDATED: 23:04, 6 June 2012 Comments (1) Share Queens Park Rangers are so determined to avoid another relegation battle they have made an audacious bid to lure France striker Olivier Giroud. Manager Mark Hughes is prepared to splash a significant part of his summer budget to land a top-class goalscorer. Arsenal have led the running for Montpellier striker Giroud, who scored 26 goals last season. His club owner Louis Nicollin recently said he rated Giroud, 25, at £50million but the player is believed to have a £12.8m release clause in his contract. Busy summer: Olivier Giroud arrives at Donetsk airport for Euro 2012 with France * Arsenal have also made checks on CSKA Moscowâs Seydou Doumbia and Malagaâs Salomon Rondon. QPR goalkeeper Radek Cerny, 38, has signed a one-year deal with the club, who were still waiting to discover whether Joey Barton would be charged with affray for his alleged role in a dawn brawl outside a Liverpool nightclub earlier this week.
What a joke, this guy's gonna be top class and is seriously out of our price range. He will definately be playing Champions League football next season, but boy would i love to see him in the hoops!
Another one to add to the list. The names keep getting better, at this rate the papers will have us signing Messi by transfer deadline day. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2155603/QPR-ambitious-bid-Olivier-Giroud.html
He will be going to Arsenal if he comes to the EPL.....and even if we did manage to get hold of him, 12 Million is a rediculous chunk of our budget.....sorry, but as much as id love a player like that, we arent quite at that level and should spend it on multiple players in more key areas. Cisse will get us 21+ goals next season.
Imagine him and Cisse upfront!! It would never happen though, this guy wouldnt come to us unfortunately even if we were prepared to pay this £12.8million.
Wenger has blown deals like this before with his personal valuations, I wouldn't write this one off just yet...
He should go to a better club than us and his value will sky rocket after the EC but he has a release clause and weve made that. Get Cisse on the case and get him in, it could be our best signing for decades.
His team just won the french league, so he has european football next season. Really can not see him joining a low-mid table Rs team - if he leaves, it will be for european football me thinks. Either that, or somewhere where the pay is on another level (again, not us).
