Van Nistelrooy scored 95 goals in 145 games. Whereas Heskey has scored 117 in 546 games. Slightly different.
please log in to view this image You're right Leicester fans, Heskey is definitely up there with the best... goalkeepers.
Lol heskey is **** give me a break. He's long past it don't kid yourself. He'd do a decent job in league 2 probably though.
we will forgive your total ignorance on anything premier because of very limited experience of it.. we know he's no dean windass..
Because of course, our own team has to have been in the Premier League for several years for us to know anything about it People keep banging on about his goalscoring record - in his last 119 games, he has 12 goals. He's past it.
If Heskey is too good for Hull City then you have No chance of getting him signed up. Reading calls loudest.
I'm not at all a heskey fan but look at what Jason Roberts did dropping down to the championship for reading. Heskey might not or have ever been a top level striker but he'd get plenty in the championship for us and like mentioned earlier is the sort of player fryatt loves to feed off.
I came on this thread specifically to post this You get it off the lad bible? I saw it on there the other day.
I've slated heskey as much as the next man, (Villa Showed him the door, But he missed) But IMO I think he would do ok for us, Fryatt is a goalscorer, What he needs is decent support and service. Stewart can't cross, And Brady has normally lost the ball long before he gets chance to. So maybe a big target man to win flick on's and hold the ball up is what we need. The guy may be crap in front of goal, But if he creates chances for Fryatt he will score. Considering some of the realistic names available he may not be a bad bet Still think he'll sign for leicester though,
Heskey must be doing something right , for a player with such a low strike rate - he is despite his lack of goals highly thought of as a team player .
His wikipedia page made me smile: Style of play Heskey plays as a forward with pace, being a powerful targetman with physical strength and is hard working.
No. I knew he hadn't exactly been prolific recently, but I hadn't realised he only scored 1 in 29 appearances last season, that's ****ing appalling by any standards.
The ignorance of football fans stuns me sometimes. Emile Heskey in his prime was better than any forward who has ever worn the Hull City shirt.
To be fair when Heskey came here as part of that Wigan side that smashed us 5-1 at home, I thought he was outstanding, decent player on his day, sadly his day was last week.
Heskey was a very good player in his day. An example; If memory serves me well he came on against Scotland in 1999 at Wembley with England one down. For those old enough to remember we had beaten Scotland 2-0 up at Hampden and even though England were getting beat we would have qualified 2-1 on aggregate. In short Heskey came on and was awesome. Every ball pinged up to him he controlled and held up. He never once gave the ball away, which was his job ,and he did it impeccably. He was a very tidy player but that was thirteen years ago, he's well past his best now. He'll still do a job in this league though.
