Like I said, I will stay out of this debate about Sagna and let Jayram explain which 5 other RBs in the Prem he thinks are better. <ok>

I don't agree totally with Jayram but I do agree that Sagna is massively overrated. He lost something 2 seasons ago and since then he's struggled to fine the form he had during his first 2 seasons with us - where I doubt anyone could argue he was one of the best RBs in the world.

I see him making mistake after mistake, positionally he is found wanting, he is dreadful going forward, he can't cross for toffee and he gets beaten far too easily, its like he lost his strength.

Who would I choose above him ? Well, as has been said, he is one of the best RBs in the league on all round ability but I'd choose Richards in front of him any day of the week, he may not be better positionally but he is better offensively and defensively. He is faster and much more powerful.

Sagna is certainly NOT the RB he was 2 seasons ago, thats for sure.

Hothead, remember he's suffered some terrible long term injuries in that time.

I disagree with almost all of your points.

    1. Sagna crosses well. Considering the players we get in the box, he still managed 4 assists in 28 games, which is good for a right back.
    2. Brushed off the ball? Are you kidding? He is very strong and aggressive. He usually gets in some exceptional tackles.
    3. His pace dropped in the last few games of the season before he was injured, but I don't see how that reflects on his other 150 appearances for the club. His pace is at least average for a full back.

His positional play is also very good. As a result he often gets more last ditch tackles than our centre backs. His value to our team is hard to calculate, but I would put him second after RVP. Almost every goal we concede comes from our left-backs side when Sagna is playing. At a time when our defense is shaky, we need players like Sagna who can do the job exceptionally well.

Anyway, I'd only sell Walcott if we plan to use the money to sign Gotze or Eriksen.

In this league I'd only take Micah Richards over Sagna. He's (Sagna) not been the player he was but as has been pointed out he's had some pretty serious injuries. Our form without him was absolutely horrific.

This Sagna is one of the best right backs in the world in my opinion, he has often had to deal with two players coming at him due to the fact that Walcott often does not track back.

Arsegun I think you will struggle to find many who agree with you that he crosses well. His crossing was only equalled by Clichy !!!

I don't agree with Jayram regarding getting beaten by one-twos, there is no defender in the world that can defend against that, but I maintain he has lost his strength.

He'll get his strength back once he's got over his injuries. I hope anyway as Jenkinson is currently cr*p. I hate the whole "Arsenal through and through" ballbags spouted about him. So am I for f*ck's sake but you'd not want me anywhere near the starting lineup.

....I'm probably no better than Chamakh. <whistle>

Everyone dissing Sagna when we have Jenkinson as backup, better wake up and realise. You better hope and pray that Sagna stays fit as Jenkinson is far from ready and we really don't want Djourou as friggin right back!

No way! Sagna is far and away the best rightback in the league.

Kyle, Oxo and Lazarus . . . Did you ever get your question answered about which five RBs in the prem are better than Sagna ?

Nope, i don't think so....I just hope Sagna comes back fit and well next season, otherwise we could get a simular Ebouesque witch hunt for Bacary....

On another Sagna point, he has got to be the most professional and nicest guy in the Premiership. He has class!
