There's certainly a lot to be taken into consideration Nines, but what I read into the article in your OP was 'don't hold your breath' - this is several years away yet. Keeping the identity and feel of the club intact is as you say the key thing. Such a shame we can't put a few thousand more seats (preferably with leg room and views) in LR in the meantime. But on the upside, many more stadium threads to come......
Bit of a stupid comment by Beard about growing fan base first? Sorry but did we not get 25-30K gates back in the day? and how can we grow if we are stuck at LR? That artical means nothing and is just a page filler. He like everyone else knows that LR is old and has crap facilities and to move forward we need a bigger ground otherwise the long term plans can go out of the window. Once again! Football is popular and moved on. If we are to compete in the Prem we need the stadium to go with the ambitions. No good waiting for new fans to turn up at LR because it is not happening with the state of the ground. Listen up Phil, i took Mrs Ellers along to LR with 2 mates and all said the same thing would not go back due to poor facilities and crap leg room. Get a new ground and i can bring along 3.
I'm sure SB.73 will confirm, but I'm sure there is a race track next to the San Siro. Don't know if it was for horses or dogs. A definate NO to ground sharing from me. Look what Wasps and Foolham did to the pitch! A yes to cinema complex, but why not a hotel instead.
I agree, the idea of sharing with another football club makes me uncomfortable. Hotel, cinema, casino, brothel, restaurants, nightclub, shopping mall or any combination thereof, anything bar another football team.
what happens if we share with chelsea,, how would we get rid of the smell if we have a home fixture after they have played there
Did i not see an article sometime back talking about re-introducing terraces. If so could we not have the tearrace back in the lower Loft and in South Africa Road paddocks and move the family stand to the upper loft? Not sure what this would add to the attendance figures but must make it up to 20k+
I'm surprised everyone is in favour, i'm maybe very selfish but I dont want us to become another plastic club with plastic fans a la Fulham and a soulless running track bowl, I love Loftus Rd and ideally would like to stay there although I know that is probably not financially viable, could we not knock Loftus down and ground share for a couple of seasons whilst we build a stadium in that space?
the area is not bit enough and we cant build any higher due to the ground cutting out light to the houses. We have to go. the LR facilities are abysmal, I sat next to a lard ass and i was in serious pain due to spending 45 mins with a bent spine because he was spilling over into my seat. Theres no room unless youre 5ft tall,.
We have to move although I share some of the sentiment for our khazi of a ground! If we can have a ground that would host another team (football, rugby etc) on our away days and then sell out concerts during the summer I'd be all for it. As long as you can see the pitch from any seat, there are enough (clean) toilets for us all and more variety of food vendors I'd be happy. I have got the raving hump about being turfed out of my seat to make way for what is likely to be a largely empty "family" stand in the Loft. I now have to move to a part of the ground with less atmosphere, a worse view and a seat that will cost me more if I stay there after next season. As a supporter of over 35 years I think this is taking the living piss.
I would not want to share with Fulham. What happens in a couple of years when they go down and go back to 3K gates again? I agree a Casino/Hotel/Concerts/U21 games but not another club. But we will never get bigger gates at LR with bad views and facilities with other London clubs around us with better grounds. I think it must be boring at QPR this week and they needed to 'spice up' the week and what better way than to mention 'stadium'.

I read somewhere that TF doesn't want to move away from the area, I'm sure he thought that ground share doesn't necessary mean sharing with another sports team but could be adding in some concert friendly features etc to share with other types of entertainment, for this Central London would be a lot better.
I presume when talking about ground sharing with a team from another sport we are talking about a Rugby team ? I can't see it working with any other sport that's big enough for purpose. Any other possible suggestions ??
The problem we have is that we are in W12. (before anyone says anything, i would never want to move out). The price of land costs a lot of money compared to further out. From what i have read in the press we did not get any part of Westfield. No Unigate. No Scrubs (as its government land). That leaves the BBC (which they still have for 2 years) and Linford C ground Our options are running out (sorry for pun) unless i have missed an area. We cannot redevelope LR. Maybe we could build on the White city estate and build new flats on LR for all the people being turned out? Other than that i think its going to be very hard.
SSN LATEST Chelsea fail in a bid to get Battersea Power station. This is interesting news and funny about the timing?
This was in the papers a couple of weeks back, the American Embassy didn't fancy 50,000 scum on their doorstep (can't say I blame them)...
You have to laugh at foreigners being able to influence our gov and councils like that. So what if they dont fancy it, they can always move elsewhere.
