Sue me? Sue you! Sunderland are being sued by a fan who was injured while watching the team train, the chairman has revealed. Niall Quinn was responding to a question during a BBC Radio Newcastle phone-in about whether fans were still allowed to watch training sessions. He said that legal action was ongoing after the supporter was knocked out by a stray shot. The Premier League club has declined to release further details about the incident. Niall Quinn said: "We had a supporter who got a bad injury, "I think it was one of Djibril Cisse's misses where he had a shot from 20 yards. "I'm making fun of it now, but it knocked a supporter out. It was quite serious. "That supporter is in the process of suing us right now."
Lucky we haven't got Dean Marney still playing for us, with his shooting abilities the ambulance chasers would be licking their lips.
Don't really have any sympathy with the Sunderland fan. Watching them week in and week you should know that they're more likely to hit a supporter in the face than the back of the net
just remind me paul, which division are sunderland in? also how many tmes have the mighty tigers hit the net this season?
the supporter must have a ****ing stupid lawyer because he won't win this, he will be lucky to get a pay out before going to court to be honest with you. The case law on this is fairly solid, Bolton v Stone [1951] AC 850 pretty much set the standard and I don't see that there is any difference with been in your garden or actively watching the training. It all boils down to, was Cisse grossly negligent, of course he isn't case closed.
*times. We're in the Championship, Sunderland are in the Premier League, big deal. How many wins is it recently? Out of interest has it being a good season for you guys? Made me smile when you won at the Bridge, plus always like to see Gyan's goal celebrations!
