Leeds United target agrees new QPR deal By Jacob Murtagh Jun 6 2012 Add a comment Recommend inShare CLINT Hill is set to sign a new one-year deal at QPR. The veteran defender earned the player of the year prize after an impressive second-half of the season at Loftus Road as Rangers escaped the drop on a nail-biting final day of the campaign. However, his contract is due to expire at the end of the month, with former QPR boss Neil Warnock keen to bring the 33-year-old to Championship club Leeds United. But the Chronicle can reveal Hill has snubbed the chance to hook up with his old manager, and will pen a new deal next week after agreeing terms to remain in W12 for another season. Who would have thunk it. Our first signing of the true Mark Hughes era is a 34 year old no-nonsense English defender more used to visits to Millwall than Manchester. Well done Clint. Refreshingly normal.
Well it looks like theres harmony at QPR because I have no doubt he would have gone to leeds if there was anything amiss at QPR. That leaves us needing just one CB now but it has to be a top class one.
Good news , happy with this . Did a great job last year , funnily enough more so after warnocks departure .
Never understood Warnock's reasoning when he sent Clint out on loan to Florist, as he strengthened the squad with CB & LB options? Warnock seemed satisfied to go with Ferdinand, Gabbidon & Hall as CB options and Traore at LB.
Will be great to have him battling for contention in our starting line up. The worst case for Clint is that he gets a few games due to others being injured. However, being Clint, he will probably be selected on merit for more games than most of us imagine, just like last season. Great pro, great leadership and unquestionable application: I'm delighted for him.
We used to have the club captain/team captain bit a few years ago didn't we. So can we make Clint club captain with impunity now, don't matter if he plays or is no1 defensive cover on the bench does it. CLINT FOR CLUB CAPTAIN
