http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18338893 Going by their lack of comments about you becoming their new manager, the feeling doesn't appear to be mutual at the moment. For the record this is not sour grapes on my part, good luck PL
To be fair to Villa, when I went Villa Park last year the banter between us and them was brilliant. Decent away day and their fans are not too bad. You can't blame them for not wanting McGleish. He'd just got their bitter rivals relegated.
As he progresses up the ladder and he hasn't much further to go, he will know that the only way to get and keep the fans onside is to succeed. Its a tough one. Things won't get easier for him. But on the other hand, I expect not too many people thought Alan Pardew would last past Christmas let alone win Manager of the Year.
I don't mean to sound bitter but I have a feeling he may not be great this season for Villa. I think he'll struggle, I may be wrong but just have a hunch.
he'll be fine. they'll do well under lambert, i'm sure. might take him a little longer to get results there than he did with us though. their first team is a mess as it stands. i always said he'd get to the very top, and just cos he's no longer our manager, it doesn't mean i'm going to be changing that prediction any time soon. i think they'll still struggle initially but by the time he leaves villa park for an even bigger job, they'll probably be pushing near the top six or seven
Who cares anyway? Forget about Lambert as Aston Villa manager, the only Paul Lambert that matters is the one who managed Norwich and now whoever the guy (Probably Hughton) is replacing him at Norwich.
well i care... a bit! just cos he's left doesn't mean we can't be interested in how he does. i still hope he does well, regardless of his exit from carrow road. he saved our clubs bacon and for that i'll be eternally grateful. life's too short to get upset about a football manager leaving
I imagine he will have what many will regard and average first season but he will push on from there. There is no doubt has the potential to reach the very top. But there are exciting times ahead for us too and I eagerly anticipate the start of next season
I'd love to know the real reason he left, but as he says, it will probably remain private! I'll always think fondly of him, he saved my football club! I know he had help, but he was an integral part of it!
I get the impression that something went wrong behind the scenes between PL and McNally. I think I would rather not know to be honest, let's all move on.
I'd like to know too but I do wonder whether these private matters are just an excuse tbh. I'm sure its probably for the best if it doesn't come out either way onwards and upwards. Next thing let's get the Holt issue sorted out <ok > Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
No just you seem more in the know than I do and when PL was initially linked to Villa you doubted his interest and also said his mentor MON wouldn't recommend them after falling out before he left. Yet PL has said he spoke to MON and he said nothing but positive things.. Just wondering if you knew anything?
I think villa fans might be a little bit usurped that we've taken the shine of their unveiling by announcing we are in talks with hughton Another good move by NCFC, business as usual!
