Just here to defend Keele a bit (thanks DHCanary)

We have a top ten department in maths and quite a few other subjects, and I'm pretty sure we're top 3 for Pharmacy! So that guy should chill out.

Also, there's a massive Norfolk cohort there, and on the day we were promoted I hi-fived a guy in a maths lecture because we were both wearing our Norwich shirts.

Other than that, YAY FOR HUGHTON.

Not a wind up, it was purely based on our position and my choice, Hughton has never really had to rebuild a side like what we need at the moment, the 2 squads he inherited were premiership squads in the championship, that is a pure fact (not one of mikeys). If i was in your position, I would want Holloway pure and simple, plays attractive football and really gives it a go.

Apology accepted, I have seen the damage drugs can do, and to insult people like that is no laughing matter.

but that is my opinion, so you are saying if anybody has an opinion that differs it is your right to insult them? being on the norwich board or not doesn't matter. I would suggest that if Hughton takes charge of you guys he will play a very defensive style, very different to lambert which might not go down to well.

i'm very unsure as to where you've got the concept that hughton plays negative football. what are you basing this on?

i could understand if you feel he sometimes plays slightly direct but then we sometimes did that under lambert. that's another reason why he's such a good fit, because our players are capable of playing both styles. he knows when the time is right to mix it up and at birmingham, he had no option but to play that way. ask the birmingham fans though, when they played rooney and wood up top they played some great stuff. he plays to teams strengths and that's the sign of a very astute manager. he had so few players at his disposal last year - 21 i think i read the other day, for a whole season which took in nearly 70 games! at newcastle he played with wingers but the football they played in the build up was similar to that played by city last season. good, counter attacking football. i don't want holloway, who plays the same way every week - i want a manager who knows how to play against and beat different teams and not leave it to luck.

hughton is the man for that <ok>

In all fairness though supers, Birmingham at the start of last season would have expected to finish in the top 3 or 4 so he could be that little bit more cavalier in his approach, if he came against the 'bigger' clubs he went into mustn't get beaten mode. which would naturally assume he will do with you guys. Holloway which has been proven, went attacking at every side which i feel would suit you guys better due to your strength at attacking. thats why i say holloway is your better bet, plus the interviews would be great!

but were they directed at you? i have the same sort of experiences. I don't expect you to understand, because you are one of those whose opinion is the only one who matters, and anyone who differs from that deserves to insulted until they never visit the board again.

I don't think Birmingham's team last year was Premier League, disagree with you on that one, they lost 15 players which included Craig Gardner, Sebastian Larsson, Ben Foster.

Let's let the drugs thing lie everyone, people get offended from different things.

except they didn't expect that, did they! they just wanted to survive and not go bust. they were three or four games behind the other teams throughout the season and had they had a bigger squad would have been in the top two in all likelihood. also, i watched a few of their bigger games and not once did i witness them go into 'don't get beat mode'. indeed, it was games against west ham and reading which i watched saw the blues smash their opponents for long periods. in the west ham game it only changed when west ham started booting the ball forward that they came back into it! i think your ludicrous assumptions are based on nothing more than club bias against us rather than anything else because none of the things you say are true about hughton or birmingham's style. we aren't interested in 'funny' interviews - we want a football team who win matches. that's what lambert did and what hughton does too.

OK, perhaps sometimes that might differ. this season is the big one PJ as he can't hide behind the Dark Lords cock-ups anymore. would i have hughton though as manager, well he wouldn't be top of my list. the Robinson from MK Dons bloke would be up there, as would Poyet or somebody like Di Canio.

I stand by my quote that Hughton hasn't really been tested as a manager yet, and your job will be a test for any manager with the level of expection at the highest level that it must have been for years.

Guru, how is this not a test.

Transfer embargo, lost best players, small squad, unwelcome Europa League campaign which streatches squad, spend most of season several matches in hand.

How is that not a challenge, I don't understand?

I definitely thought that Holloway would have suited you better that Hughton, but anyway, we'll see and as long as we take 6 points off you I'm not really bothered, still a good night out in Norwich though.

there is no logic to what you say! you say hughton hasn't been tested (which he has with a transfer embargo and god knows what else) and that he hasn't achieved anything yet you claim you'd happily take robinson or di canio! now i like robinson and think he has a terrific future and is someone i wouldn't have minded at city - i put him forward as a suggestion but i think in retrospect he is too young, but he hasn't even got a team promoted from league one. di canio has been a manager for one year at a low level - we don't yet know if he's any good or whether his sheer character and personality managed to propel swindon to the top. would that work with players further up the ladder? not sure. poyet is better - but as i've stated a few times his team plays with no discipline - so many red cards - and his style of play is not really suited to our players, more so swansea. you've basically said a load of stuff which contradicts the reason you don't rate hughton.

I must admit that my preference for Holloway was based as much as anything on entertainment. Not just the interviews though,I remember them going to Old Trafford on the last day and going 2-3 up.Ok they lost but unlike other teams we could name they didn't throw it.Happy enough with Chris Hughton, felt very sorry for him when Ashley booted him out.Fair enough Pardew has done superbly but sacking a guy when he was doing so well?
