Swansea V Liverpool Norwich V Aston Villa Theres some bad blood floating around at the moment, but it looks like getting worse over the coming weeks. Sigurdsson looks like snubbing the Swans & moving to the Pool to team up with Rodgers. And in a similar situation, its looks increasingly like Grant Holt is trying to push through a move to Villa. I must say, I'm starting to feel sorry for fans of Swansea & Norwich, after such incredible seasons, this just seems very harsh. The grass is not always greener, but you won't hear the agents whisper that..........
Lambert will get a VERY hostile reception when Villa go to Norwich. He really didn't conduct himself well at all. I hope Norwich finish above Villa next season.
His little rant about the media a couple weeks back does look laughable now, he better hope this move works out.
If he had an agreement as he is supposed to have had, then Norwich have no-one to blame but themselves. Once they were promoted why didn't they change his contract?
Swansea will be fine once Bergkamp takes over, Rodgers will only do well at Liverpool if he is given a couple of seasons to sort the squad out and try and make it good enough for the top 4
Swansea and Norwich have learnt what we all know: when things appear to be going right it is only because it is about to go wrong (twitch, twitch).
What goes around comes around. I'm sure that Colchester fans are having a laugh at the Lambert situation.
Liverpool was the capital of Wales once upon a time. I know what you mean though, 150 miles apart doesn't really count as a derby!
This is why the top four or five is pretty much a closed shop: managers and players will jump ship for something 'better' at the first opportunity.
May they kick each other to pieces forever more. Norwich have approached Hughton and I think they will survive again next season with some wise additions. Swansea I am not so sure, if they manage to replicate their home form in season two it will be miraculous.
I think you'll find this is 'derbys' in inverted commas. That is, games with added bite. Not meant literally.
I think any ambitious manager would find it hard to turn down the Liverpool job, despite the weight of expectation and the pressure for immediate success. I'm just grateful that the owners probably don't follow football outside the top flight, so are unlikely to have ever heard of Saint Nigel of the South Coast.
I agree - you have to fear for Swansea. I really hope they do well as I have family there but the omens don't look good, especially if the vultures start circling for their best players now that their manager has gone.
Although not a particularly friendly thing to say [on your behalf] these actions could expediate a dose of 'second season syndrome' for Norwich and Swansea; thus helping you on your way to cementing your position in the Premier League.
What's bad for them is good for us, I suppose. But if Norwich succeed in getting Chris Hughton, they'll have secured one of the most promising managers in the game.
Although it is quite selfish, I am definitely looking at it in that way, even though I quite like Norwich.
Until Rodgers gets sacked as Liverpool finish in the bottom half and NA has led Saints to a Carling Cup win and a top half finish! Whoops, I meant Capital One Cup!
