I take it you are joking? The joke is clever, SAF got Izzard instead of Hazard and Mancini got the Dukes of Hazzard instead Eden Hazard.

And, because of that, they'll doubtless sack him.

If he brings back Aquilaini and Cole, then I can see them playing the same way as Swansea. Not sure how Carroll would fit in though. Long balls forward won't be tolerated by Rodgers.

brave move by both liverpool and rodgers as already there is this expectation that liverpool willplay this patient passing game with end product, plus if this doesnt work out well for rodgers then it be hard for him to bounce back into a top job as he will have to prove himself at a lower club.

did many people want him as manager? he may well be the welsh guardiola but he has had one season in the top flight so its brave to give him a top job.

Also, not a fan of this patient passing, its dour and i understand why teams use it as there is nothing more frustrating when the opposition have to chase the ball, but when happens when the game goes against you? its fine for barca when they dominate but not so sure about liverpool.

im sure his name was bandied about as a possibility and i agree once again i find tip tap passing tedious..give me Bayern's skillfull but direct approach or even Madrid's over Barca's sideways rubbish anyday.

so AVB cost 32 million quid for 7 months work at Chelsea :emoticon-0136-giggl

    125k a week
    12 million settlement
13 million to get him off Porto lol

so the money earned for the CL run was just balancing the books.

lol....throwing money away because the club is run ineptly.

no wonder they got Hazard...only a club with owners like Chelsea would be the inevitable destination for an arsehole like Hazard...they are the easiest to fleece <laugh>

That depends on the system you deploy against it. If you play like The Chavs did, then yes, there is some success to be had. However, if you try to match them by playing open football, it's more than likely that you will get beaten. As has been shown, many times. Messi is, of course, brilliant. However, they have many other world class players who can destroy you, too. Whether you like the way they play, or not, they are a fantastic footballing team.

Robin van Persie: I won't discuss my future until after the Euros... but Juve are a 'great team'

Dutch striker is thought to be on the summer shopping lists of Manchester City, Juventus and Barcelona

Arsenal captain Robin van Persie insists he will not let talk of his future distract him from Euro 2012, although he has described one of his suitors, Juventus, as a "great team".

Van Persie enjoyed a stellar year at Arsenal, scoring 37 goals to help the Londoners turn around their season and qualify for the Champions League.

Recent talks over an extension to his current contract, which expires next summer, failed and he has been coveted by Europe's top teams, including Juve, Barcelona, and Barclays Premier League champions Manchester City.

Arsenal fans are hoping their skipper will sign a new deal at the club

Van Persie has agreed to not speak about his plans for next season until after the European Championship finals, but the Holland hitman praised Italian champions Juventus today, telling Italian website Tuttosport : "Juve? They are a great team, of course.

"I agreed not to discuss my future with Arsenal.

"I can only say that my intention is to play in the European Championship. And then go on to win the Champions League."

...well, apart from goodbye goons, I don't know how much more blatant he can be! :)

exactly......any more blatant and he will be burning effigies of himself in an Arsenal shirt.

on a side note..i think the champions league is overated! with that always coming across as some sort of holy grail for players...im afraid it isnt...it probably has expensively assembled teams in it..but it doesnt have the best football in it..Chelsea and Barca proved this...as a spectacle the Bilbao v Sporting semi finals in the Europa were way better.

that is what football is about....im glad im not blind to the essence of the game.
