Fingers crossed that it is Hughton and that Cully and Karsa stays too - would be an awesome management team that.
Birmingham Mail's BCFC Correspondent: Colin Tattum ‏@colintattum I understand that, yes, highly likely Chris Hughton will become the new Norwich City manager. More tomorrow #blues #bcfc #ncfc
Newcastle fan in peace. If this is true then I am made up for Chris Hughton. You are getting an excellent manager and he is back in the league that I believe he belongs in. Was very sorry to see him treated the way he was when dismissed from my club. An overwhelming majority of Newcastle fans were against his sacking. Obviously we are delighted with the job Pardew has done but we all recognise that Pardew is building on the foundations laid by Chris. Good luck to you in the coming season. I hope both you and your new manager do well

I get football Supers, just that this guy has no credentials. Then again, you chaps don't expect very much
Says he, having seen Paul Jewell take over from the disaster that was Roy Keane I'd get your own house in order before concerning yourself with ours
Utterly ridiculous response. If you want to mock somone's opinion, at least have some understanding of the context and facts. Lambert's profile is irrelvant as McNally has publicly stated a criterion of 'top tier' experience. I'm another who doen't understand the appeal of Chris Hughton. What has he achieved exactly? Does he really meet McNallyâs criterion with one season in the Premier League? To me, it represents a safe but unspectacular and disappointing choice, one lacking ambition from the Board â someone who has neither been overly successful nor can be considered a âyoung up and coming mangerâ. Neither does he demonstrate success in the transfer market â for every Cheick Tioté or Hatem Ben Arfa, thereâs two or three Danny Simpsons, Peter Lovenkrands and Fabrice Pancrats, Marlon Harewoods, a geriatric Sol Campbell etc. Given his aged of 53, and the time he has actually spent as a permanent manager in the âtop tierâ of English football, I would say his credentials are weak, and his appeal limited â his major successes of promotion with Newcastle and success in the League Cup are largely irrelevant given the demands of the Norwich role, and frankly, my dog could have managed Newcastle to promoton. If McNally wants someone in their 50âs why not go for Alan Curbishley working with Culverhouse, with the intention of Culverhouse subsequently assuming the managerial role? Hughton makes no sense at all.
or is Mr Bowkett fed up with continual questions ruining his day out, had a couple of wines and thinks I know I'll wind those press fools up and then I will get a bit of peace as they run off with thier scoop lol! dont expect NMr MacNally to rush why should he, this is the hottest seat available and he has a queue of people to consider.... Hughton with Culverhouse would be ideal though!
No it is a perfectly reasonable response. Lambert was not experienced when he was signed for Norwich as Hughton is now and look how well he did. As for Hughton he got Newcastle to 11th in the Premier League and Newcastle fans were incredibly shocked to see him go. It is also quite hard to get out f the Championship as it is such a competitive league. West Ham only just managed and very few strong clubs have struggled to return to the Premier League after being relegated. Also, McCarthy, Curbishly et al ARE bad appointments. Hence why McCarthy was sacked and Curbishly can't get a job. Hughton has certainly had more success than these two. The post I was initially responding to lacked common sense but your post is just funny! Hughton makes perfect sense. Far more than a lot of others. But, please read the context of my posts before trying to mock me.
err, danny simpson is an excellent player whilst peter lovenkrands helped guide them back to the top flight and was a fantastically astute piece of business. ok, so he probably made a couple of errors but would you say steven smith was a success at norwich? if you're going to slag him off, at least get your facts straight. i really don't understand how anyone can think he's a poor appointment to be honest. if you think your dog could have got them up that year then you're an idiot if anyone is having any doubts, have a read of this blog by a birmingham fan earlier in the past season... http://b31blues.com/2012/04/06/chris-hughton-the-legend-grows-guest-blog/ as for curbishley, there's a very good reason why he can't get a job - he thinks he's better than he is and expects man utd to come calling. his demands, according to wolves fans, were astronomical. also, culverhouse is leaving hughton makes perfect sense and always has done. anyone who can't see that needs to have a bit of a think about what they are saying is the alternative.
I would be happy with Hughton but with McNally you never know. The IC bit would be brilliant but I don't buy that plus wouldn't Hughton want his own team? I think that this does include an ex-City scout. At least this is a positive feeling after the despair of recent days.
