o well that's me up against the wall Though I sure did support City in division 4 . I just can't be bothered watching England , There players mean **** to me .. If there was a City player playing then I'd be cheering him on to do well. I couldn't give a frig about the English teams in the champions league . or Englands cricket team.
I wouldn't support another country of course. Maybe I'm a boring sod it's just that international footy doesn't do anything for me any more . Then again IF I pop in the bookies and do some bets chances are I will watch any games iv had a bet on.
Erik, are you sure that's why he called you a ****.........................I mean he might of called you a **** for that, but I can imagine you have given him so many other reasons
I of course will always support England on the international stage, just as I support City domestically however I have to say I don't give a **** about whether an English team wins the Champions League/Europa League unless it's Hull City.
I'm not really bothered if English football fans are pretty much neutral about international football. What irritates me is when people actually cheer on their opposition.
If people don't want to support England that's up to them. Just don't brag about it like Man Utd supporters do. Those ****wits even chant ' Argentina' at home games to show how much they don't support England. This revelation was told to me by someone who works at the club and was proud of it. It's when people want the other home nations and even Eire to do well that gets on my tits. These countries would rather we lost than their own team win yet some mis guided English supporters cheer them on regardless. I'm less arsed than usual about England at this tournament than at other tournaments but will still fully support them, even if Ashley Young is playing.
Over my lifetime I've seen many England teams to be proud of, giving their all and playing for their country that i find it hard to get exited over a team which contains Cashly Cole, Diving twat Young etc who are all multi-millionaires that give the impression that playing for England is merely a distraction. They could be on their 3 week luxury holiday in the Caribbean instead. That said, I'llstill be sat in the pub, shirt on, crying into my beer when we get knocked out by ze Germanz on pens....
The thing that got me the most after getting knocked out of the last tournament by Germany was that photo that appeared of the players after the match not seeming to give two ****s, you might remember it, Aaron Lennon is in it smoking a cigar, if he never played again for the national team i wouldnt be bothered horrible little ****
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/wo...s-smoke-cigars-drink-beer-Germany-defeat.html I know its the daily mail but even so
Exactly. Can u imagine butcher, psycho, shearer etc doing anything other than sulking, feeling gutted and thinking they've let their country down? I think all football fans in England and us as city fans especially simply want a team who gives their all and tries their hardest. The current England team (or at least certain players) give the impression they couldn't give two ****s.
Like others have said , I don't think they care either . Seen more effort watching local teams in scarborough . Over paid couldn't give a toss that's England now . There was a time when I never missed watching England if only on the TV .. Players use to take it as huge being in the England Team . Would never cheer on a different team but loved the Irish under Jacky Charlton in the world cup,
I'm supporting my national team but i don't expect nothing good this time. we won't make it to the quarter finals.
I'll support England expecting disappoinntment, but the thing I can't abide about these competitions is the gushing, onanistic and quite frankly embarassing commentating. OK don't have an England bias, but I can no longer listen to the priapistic nonsense spouted by usless commentators and ex-footballers (stand up Chris Waddle ! 'spit'), as they prattle over matches featuring Spain ! Rant over
I don't buy all this 'England players don't care about England' bollocks. I've seen some bloody shocking England performances, many of which were in recent years, but I can't recall lack of effort. I think people use it as an excuse, rather than looking at the far more realistic prospect that: 1) The other team had better players than us and/or 2) The other team had better tactics than us. As for Ashley Cole, how anyone can pick him out from the bunch is beyond me. Yes, off the pitch, he is a less than admirable human being, but on it ... He is probably the only player who regularly retains his club form when he puts on an England shirt. This is probably the worst England squad in over 10 years, not helped by the injuries. I think Lampard and Cahill are big losses. Still can't see why anyone from England wouldn't support England.
After all this talk of "Gerrard and Lampard can't play with each other" in the media, now it's time Gerrard showed us he can put in a perfromance with Lampard missing and all. Afterall, it's probably his international swan song.
The point I was making when mentioning Ashley Cole was that when he states he is "gobsmacked" at being offered ONLY 55k a week by le Arse, it shows just how out of touch these players are with the average football fan.
Not England connected but, Drogba has blown them all out the water- why didn't he just say he's off to the far east for the paycheck rather than saying it's for footballing reasons.
