For those that might have missed it and may be interested, i'm doing the Moonwalk in Edinburgh in June, in aid of Breast Cancer. 26.2 miles but a walk, not a run, and overnight, wearing a bra. (not that i don't always, but..!) Anyway, if you'd like to sponsor me, here's the link: http://www.walkthewalkfundraising.org/the_wheebles Any support will be gratefully received but please don't feel obligated. Many thanks in advance. Hornette xxx
Will do something before you launch. Keep posting your progress on the training here and it should keep it up the thread list.
Think when you do the walk there should be some Watford clothing somewhere!!!! all advertising for our club helps in these hard times!!!
Count me in, as I'm used to doing this walk: http://www.itexwalk.je/ I've attempted it 4 times, completing it twice. I'm not doing it this year, but I'll be doing it next year, so if any of you fancy taking on the challenge, the 22nd running (I know!) will probably be on Saturday 23rd June 2012.
Well done jsybaz, thanks for bringing it to my attention, but I know that I will be rather busy on that day. What I have noticed since I first joined up with 606 the number of Watford fans who will support good causes either by taking part in, working for, or donating cash. Could this be because by supporting our club we have become used to keeping one charity afloat?
Wow! Maybe i'll make that my next challenge! What are the charities it supports? Though i was kinda toying with the idea of the marathon next year, though that's before i've done the Moonwalk, as me again in June lol. Big walk day Friday is nearly here, 17+ miles tomorrow
I trust you will not be putting tomorrows walk off just so that you can disappear into another pub garden.
thank you Leonardo i'm back from the walk! 17.8 miles in 265 minutes (i'm too tired to work that out in hours but i think it's 4 hours and 25 mins lol.) i ache today, it was tough. i think the sunshine, lovely as it is, didn't help, but i did it..and i'm getting there . i can't imagine doing it all over again next week though, ugh! lol
That's good tming Hornette - at that rate you would do the 26 miles in about 6 and a half hours - faster than some people run the marathon
i'm hoping to keep that rate going for the whole 26.2. i'm ahead of schedule on the training, so it should be possible, though it really hurts today lol. Thanks Leonardo ...it's really helping to have all the support
