These interviews mean nothing - especially when they are on Sky Sports Gossip. We have no idea what he was asked, what else he said or how much the journo has twisted it. Can't see him at Man Utd tbh as SAF doesnt tend to fork out the silly money it would take when there are alternatives available - and there are.

 

I hope you are correct I really do, my reaction was a bit knee jerk I admit, but even so, I'm worried and it really would set us back quite a way were he to leave. I think he will be even better next season having already got a season under his belt.

 

We are gonna have so many of these 'exclusives' to put up with in the next few months. One of the biggest problems is that the London media don't take us seriously. That works to our advantage sometimes but when they start talking about the squad I think a lot of it is genuine disbelief that anyone with quality would want to stay with 'such a small club.' They are caught in their time warp of the big four, I mean five, no six....and anyone who breaks into it is an intruder and anyone who falls out is having a blip.

 

Was going to say something like this myself. The media have to create interest to get the attention they need for advertising purposes. They'll clutch at straws and publish anything that might sell a few more copies or get some extra air time.

 

And we will be on the wrong end of the stories - ie stars leaving - until we have done enough to prove we have actually broken into that group, which we haven't after just one season up there. I might be being 'delusional' but I think that behind the scenes, and beyond the boundaries of the media's imagination, exciting things are happening and this season more than most the media stories are going to be way off mark.

 

While he has not come out and denied it (and maybe he did but the journalist just chose to omit that part!), I don't think we can expect players to come out and say they don't want to leave the club, as much as we might want them to.

There will be loads of these sorts of stories between now and the start of the season unfortunately. However we have seen what Carr can do and we have to believe that if players are sold others will be bought that will be at least as good as those departing.

I wouldn't blame him for turning it down. Man Utd really need a general all play maker, now that Scholes and Giggs are retiring/retired. Fletcher and Carrick aren't that great.

They will offer him the chance to seriously push on and become a certain starter for France, plus they'll probably give him an extra 50k a week... so yeah.

But you could say that about any top club and most of our players.

No point ****ting ourselves over it.

This puts my fears to rest a bit, can't see Fergie paying a potential 17 million for Kagawa and then paying the same, if not more for Cabaye.

 

Manure have been linked to Modric also.

I think Cabaye would be too much for Man Utd to agree to.

Can't see Cabaye there. Fergie likes his 4-4-2, and with Kagawa now there, they need a more defensive CM to play with him. In about a week, the Londoners and their printing machines will realise this and make an article linking them with Tiote.
