No quotes again. I love how if we say something, it's an opinion, but if the press say something then it must be true! We should start our own newspaper, it would be much more interesting.

No managerial experience at any level, Cracker, let alone Prem. We could do worse but not my first choice. Thought you didn't like the French anyway? <laugh>

Not Holloway. His teams can't defend.

Laudrup or Poyet for me. Solskjaer won't move from Norway apparently so that's a tiny problem.

Martinez had no experience when he started with us & look at him these days . A want a a rookie type guy that will be scared to change things to much , ready to learn but still has a connection to possible transfers ... I thing Desailly fits all these .. just an opinion though .

I heard we've agreed terms with Messi for a free transfer.

Now, if we put a fancy header over that line I must be right!

Bergkamp now in the running. Down to 6-1 according to SkySportsNews Twitter feed (https://twitter.com/#!/SkySportsNews). Wasn't even in the running a couple of days ago. Something in this?

How about Bergkamp with Desailly as his number 2?

That's the key for me. Desailly always struck me as rather arrogant and forthright in his views...rightly so when you look at what he achieved in his playing career, but I think we could do with a more humble pair of hands to steady the ship. Not sure Laudrup fits that bill either, but hey ho.

All this talk about Holloway's defensive frailties might be a bit harsh....I would say he learnt the ultimate lesson with Blackpool going down as a result and I also feel we have better defenders than they had anyway....

To be honest I won't be unhappy with most of the names being touted as we already have such an ingrained style of play at the club that I'd like to think the boys could even look after themselves for a bit! :)

Bergkamps odds are dropping now a 4-1, makes sense if Huw has gone to Holland, might be some mileage in this. Bergkamp and Desailly as a number two. Our dream team?

Breezy, Martinez cut his managerial teeth in the lower leagues where mistakes against Rochdale, Hartlepool and Southend etc were not critical. Manchesters City/ United, Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea and a host of other well drilled Premier League teams will not be as forgiving. In short, we will be mullered in game after game after game ad nauseum unless we get a manager who is experienced at what he does.

Desailly HAS NO MANAGERIAL EXPERIENCE WHATSOEVER. Perhaps he will go on to become one of the game's great managers but he has to learn his trade first and I would prefer that he does that with another team.

Not for me at any price.

All i am hoping is that jinks uses his head and dont go cheap or with a rookie in what will be our hardest season coming up......we need an experienced manager in the mold of laudrup or similar but he wont come for the wages we pay our managers,... jinks needs to think big and pay a bit more for the experiance we need this time and he has no excuses now that we cant afford it either.....If it has to be holloway then so be it but i would rather someone who can play our continental style football as i think its going to be essential this season....

Whoever He decides upon I am sure will be great. He hasn't steered us wrong yet and I don't see why that would change now. He seems to have the knack of identifying the qualities needed in a manager at the right time. To me it seems that its all about what they say and do in the interview with HJ irrespective of experience. If they have the right philosophy and attitude to do the job that he wants them to do then that's good enough for me.

I personally would like Laudrup or Karl Robinson but if HJ thinks that Bergkamp or Holloway is better then in HJ I trust.

Can I ask a question Superswan? What has changed your mind over what kind of manager he should get in. Was it not you who was championing the cause for Garry Monk to be promoted from within. Surely there is no one cheaper and more of a rookie than Monk? Or am I getting you confused with someone else?

for the simple reason monk has all the experiance of growing up with us from div2 to the premiership and he has learned from some good managers to know better than any rookie manager like marcel on how we do things at swansea.Iin all but name monk knows how we work so if jinks is going for a rookie then i would rather him get the job than anyone with no experience.......ideally or a must in my book is a top continental manager or it will be a difficult season for us....

Ahh I see thanks for clarifying that. Cant see HJ going for an out and out rookie like Monk or Desailly though.
