I liked him whenever Ive seen him play but then again he is up against pub team players!

Goalies should always be big, hes about 8" bigger than Kenny with maybe and extra inch or 2 on the arms. He would have caught any ball Kenny just missed and would save balls Kenny got nowhere near. Thats not even taking into account his quicker reaction time. Hes the right age too, he could be our goalie for the next decade.

They can also act as bodyguards if Barton fancies a night out.

I'll be disappointed if we don't get a 7ft player this window.

I thought we wanted to be the most vertically challenged team in the PL 6 months ago

QPR Challenge Celtic For Fraser Forster
9:03 am, Tuesday, June 5th, 2012 by Ed Harrison · 7 Comments
We had thought that one or two Premier League clubs may take an interest in Newcastle goalkeeper Fraser Forster.

Fraser Forster – in demand

Fraser has grown to 6’7″ over the last few years, and it seems like Alan Pardew will let him leave Newcastle this summer, and in fact a fee had been agreed with Celtic for the player.

Forster had been in negotiations with Celtic trying to agree on a wage package, but it looks like QPR are now also in the hunt for the 24 year-old goalkeeper.

News today that Fraser actually wants to join a club in the Premier League, and that would certainly heighten his chances of playing for England, and he must have a decent chance of that, with the dearth of good England goalkeepers around these days.

It seems that QPR manager Mark Hughes will definitely bring in a new goalkeeper this summer, to challenge 34 year-old Irishman Paddy Kenny for the number one jersey.

Fraser has spent the last two seasons on loan at Celtic, and he played there 91 times and kept 50 clean sheets.

The news is that Paddy Kenny may even be moved on to Leeds United to rejoin former manager Neil Warnock. Paddy has played for a number of sides managed by Neil over the years, including Sheffield United, when they were in the Premier League a few years back.

It seems that Neil Lennon is keen to sign the goalkeeper who was born in Hexham, Northumberland, and Fraser has surprisingly never played a competitive game for Newcastle.

A Premier League club may offer Forster a better chance of making the England squad, and it’s a much higher standard of play in England, although with Celtic, Fraser would be playing in Europe every single season.

Since Forster hasn’t yet signed on with the Glasgow giants, we have to believe there are other clubs interested in him, and it seems the fee Newcastle want for him is only around £2M.

What do you think

50 clean sheets for celtic from 91 games does not sound great
not like they played against 41 decent teams

He did well at Norwich and in the pub league up north. I'd be happy with him.

Would rather go for someone a bit more experienced at the top level.

More than 50% is good in any major league. The defenders in front of him are part of the statistic as well. Would rather have Foster...

He'll need to be vaccinated for all known diseases if he's been at Norwich! Come to think of it it's probably why he's grown so abnormaly.

Any footballer wanting to play in the SPL is seriously f**ked in the head. Says all about his ambition and stomach for a challenge. Pass.

And Kris Boyd, who tore the SPL to shreds, looked dreadful with Middlesbrough.

Yep, but everyone knew he was ****e, he's just not very talented, but had a knack of being in the right place <ok>

Forster is a good, solid keeper though

I don't think it's fair to just write off every player to ever play in the SPL. Granted, 99% are utter ****e.
