None that would make the current squad realistically. <laugh>. I meant in general though.

Might well be but we are a poor side at the moment with or without northern based players.

Can't get excited about this tourno, although I dare say that at some point I will find myself in the local in order to ensure that I top up my two yearly levels of crushing disappointment!

The trouble is we both sell them when the big money comes in. Now where's Kenny gone, we need the cash to spend on a couple of strikers<laugh>

Love international football and can't wait to get behind my country this summer. Then onto the Olympics and the national pride that will bring. Gonna be a great international summer for the patriotic amongst us.

Don't mistake patriotism for support of a football team. Very different things.
Couldn't care less about the current England team.

Cant get myhead around this hatred. and Sunderland comes 1st.

Totally different for me, the 2 teams, people say I wont support England as no Sunderland/Newcastle players in.

But how many Local lads are first teamers in Sunderland/Newcastle teams, not many, Colback/Taylor/Ameobi (both) and thats about it. (so why support those)

2 of our local lads is in the England team, Henderson/Downing, yes they play for liverpool not us now, but its not their fault, they are still local and for me should be getting our support, not he is **** and why are they in. Yes another local lad shoud be there, Johnson, he isnt, so lets support those that are.

meh Ill be watching every game and cheering like crazy when England score, yes I will get disapointed, but ffs, I support Sunderland not Barcelona, so its something that is burned into me now,it doesnt hurt for as long as it used to, it still bloody hurts though at the time.

I was totally unmoved when Crapello was in charge but now we have an Englishman in charge and expectation is dampened, I'm actuially getting very excited for the next 5 weeks.

England football team do very little for me these days. They play like they're strangers most of the time, and seem to not care that much what the outcome is, as long as they can get back to their high paying clubs. That combined with the crippling lack of ambition shown by managers as to tactics and selection from anyone but a 'big club' makes it an exercise in annoyance and futility supporting england these days.

That's not England's fault. Can't think of any in the last 5 years that deserved to be in and weren't picked.

Same here, although the exclusion of Richards and obvious bias towards Liverpool (and the disgusting treatment of Ferdinand, someone who wasn't even in the original standby list shafted in ahead of him, at least be honest about it) has kind of made me want to see Roy fail miserably and **** off tail between his legs. I was so happy at his appointment aswell.

England won the 66 WC with a squad of players from lower teams (3 from unfashionable WHU) 1 MUFC and 1LUFC 1 LFC, who were the top teams at the time. I get the feeling from this discussion that you are all closet patriots but won't come out until we win something.

May Roy pee on all your chips!!!!!!!!!!!

I disagree with several selections, but I will support the team 3000000000% as always.

Aye, but best of all the England team was full of committed Englishman, not a prima donna in sight, no hair transplants, no estra marital shennanagins, no fawning interviewers. Just guts and belief and not a psychobabblist in sight.

Alf Ramsey stuck to his guns about his selections and tinker about with a system that worked.
