Valley, their are some seriously pissed off people with Bellamy, as he was to keep is gob shut. Stuart Pearce may well now not include him for this breach of trust.

You accuse me of being a Cardiff fan and then you start a thread on an ex-Cardiff (loan) player. Hilarious. Imagine if I'd started it. It would have been proof that I was a cardiff fan. I wonder why you are reading news about ex-cardiff players. very suspicious. maybe you should post it on your cardiff forum instead.

He's a welsh player in the olympics for TeamGB it makes no difference what club he has played for . Is it any wonder I think you are a Cardiff fan though, interrupting another thread with crap <doh>

Bellamy is not being discussed in a Cardiff context so, imo, the post is fair and relevant. I say this particularly because Bellamy has always shown himself to be a passionate and loyal servant to Wales. He always tries his best for us but, playing for Wales, he is never going to win any major honours.

Personally, Cardiff or no Cardiff, I have always liked the irritating little so and so and I would very much like him to win some sort of honour in the game. Would that some others who have played for Wales shown the same level of passion and commitment - we might have achieved something. It won't happen but I would love him to come to Swansea and now I'm heading for my nuclear bomb shelter. Will it be enough?

Very true, but none of my threads discuss anything in a Cardiff context. The only person who brings Cardiff up all the time is valley. Just saying.

But yes, it would be good if Team GB won. Crap name for a team though.

Ivor ... at the Mexico v Wales match, there is a deck behind the team benches that I had access to. The Wales squad passed by the side of the deck on their way in and out of the changing rooms - pre-match field inspection, warm-ups etc. All of the Welsh players were extremely serious and focused, as was Bellamy, but while all the others paid no attention to us bystanders, he had the good humor to exchange a few words with a guy standing next to me who had asked him to sign his cap. He refused to sign based on pre-game superstition but at least he took the time to explain. So speak as I find, he came across as very personable.

I have never had a problem with Bellamy even when he played for Cardiff, he is the only one that I have seen at international level who seems to care at times, I am happy that he will get a chance in the Olympics as he represents all of GB not just Wales

The cardiff lot always spoke very highly of Bellamy, particularly his effort and commitment. So he will be a popular choice up the road, for sure.

Bellamy and all our other international players should not be anywhere near this team, as Welshmen they should be helping to protect the national side, its a disgrace that they have seen fit to go against the wishes of the FAW, and put at risk our national team for a bit of personal glory in a team that is only involved because its in london, any welshman who plays for this team really needs to look at themselves, personally i would ban each and everyone from ever wearing the red shirt of Wales again.

    Mabon,

TeamGB is for all the home nations, its that simple! The FAW does not sanction this, which is fine for them, the players who are selected do not have to abide by them as its sod all to do with them. I am sorry but I am for it, and hope they win it like all the other people in TeamGB

The Welsh team is far more important than a Team GB, Any welsh player or fan should be doing everything to protect it, a boycott of this team and a boycott of the venues should be the very minimum, GB do not have a football team, we are four individual nations within FIFA and that is it should stay, now i wonder if they will make the same fuss to have a team in the next olympics, i think not

Team GB is a plaything of the BOA, and you are quite right the FAW does not sanction it, and therefore no Welsh player should be playing in it, lets hope that those that are supporting this will not regret it, because the risk is very real, and we can all toddle off to Wembley in a few years time to watch the british national football team play their home games at the home of the then defunct english fa. because that is what will happen

We are holding the Olympics MabonJack, as host nation we should have competitors in every competition held. I am sorry mate but in this I think you are wrong, boycotting the games is disrespectful to the many people taking part, and it is politicising is it I think. I will be fully supporting all of TeamGB like I have done for every games since I can remember. Its a fantastic event that has been here only once in my lifetime, it will never be here again.

Valleyswan i admire your passion for Team GB, personally i don't hold any interest in anything that has GB in it, the only people who have been politicing this are the BOA, Government and FIFA, now they could have put an amateur team in this and there would not have been a problem, the host nation which is England, the 3 other nations on these islands have provided the funding for this circus, but will gain very little in return, anyway thats another thread. If boycotting this is being disrespectfull, as long as it helps us to maintain Wales as an independent football nation, i have no problem with that so be it.

I am sorry MabonJack, but as its not sanctioned by the FAW,FIFA et al it has nothing to do with them what individual players do, so they have no right to hold any sanctions on these players, and if they did it would be detrimental to the Wales team, the very ones you are are saying you are trying to protect.

And the Olympic football sides are as amateur as it can be, they have all the players under the age of 23 apart from 3 of them, the fact is this will have no effect of the players or Wales, England, Scotland or N Ireland, or these nations in FIFA.

You are in the minority I feel, whilst everyone is entitled to express their opinions, I think that most people will get behind TeamGB, because we are all British mate, and GB is British. I am as passionate a Welsh man as you get MabonJack, I speak the language, and love being Welsh, but I see the bigger picture.
