Was on skybet and the most interesting one whose odds were shortening is Jordi Cruyff !!!

Do you mean Johan Cruyff? He's 12-1 with skybet but 499-1 with betfair, so sounds like skybet are just trying to get some free cash by offering short odds and getting people to think there's something happening.

No I mean Jordi Cruyff 14/1...have not heard his name anywhere. My inital suggestion was Eddie Howe and he has gone to 12/1 too but again no reports anywhere!

You put any money on that?

I think the former could help secure the latter...

If Laudrup becomes our manager then i agree - Siggy would be a fool to sign for anyone else considering what he could learn from Laudrup

Totally. Something I've been banging on about for the last few days is a lot of us still have this "little old Swansea" chip on our shoulder - at the end of the day we finished 11th in the toughest league in the world, so there is only an elite group of managers, in my view, who wouldn't be interested in talking to us. Laudrup, well, given that he's out of work I'd be amazed if he didn't fancy a chat with Huw.

Its looking like marcel at the moment and that will be odd as he has never managed a football club before. he is a mate of arsen of arsenal and has links with chelsea. ..But even though you cant say for certain that they wont do well it will be very unlikely for someone who has no experience at all anywhere as a manager would out fox the managers with experience.......if it is him which is looking like it is now i hope he will listen to curtis and monk for guidence while he cuts his teeth......it will be a strange appointment all the same as its not as if we cant afford an experienced manager today.....

fair play to jones at wigan ......At least he admits that he dont think he is quite ready to take over a premiership club at the moment....<ok> If he dont think he can do the job as an experienced number 2 then what do jinks think a guy with no experience will do......A recipe for disaster if he dont get someone with some sort of experience thats for sure....

Quite honestly, if Huw goes for Desailly, his head's in the shed. No experience of ANY sort as a manager and Huw expects him to cut his teeth in the Premier League? That's about as ridiculous and stupid as it sounds! If we appoint him, I bet the other PL managers will be rolling about with laughter and wondering who will be finishing second and third last above us. We'll be languishing in the Championship the following season and Desailly will have a valuable, well paid learning curve under his belt. And we''ll have been the chumps who paid for it. Ye Gods!!!

This is all pure speculation and bookie rumours.

Apart from the story in The Guardian, why is it looking like Desailly?

Had you read my post properly, campion, you will have noticed that I qualified my remarks with the word "IF". I then mention "if" a second time.

I don't need to get a grip or calm down, thank you. I was merely expressing how I would feel IF Huw went ahead with what I regard as madness.

We are all debating, speculating and giving opinions about the various candidates in line for the job and I find it very interesting to note the views of other posters on the subject. As for my own remarks about Desailly, in the context of him perhaps becoming our manager, I stand by every word in my post, IF, of course, Huw and the Board do go ahead and appoint him.

I did read your post Ivor and I know it was hypothetical, but you didn't half get yourself into a right lather about it. The problem is it heightens the sense of panic on these boards.

Nothing is happening so there's a mad rush to fill it heresay. Fair enough I suppose but all this alarmism and hysteria is doing my head in!
