Definitely difficult to get excited about this competition. But it goes without saying that I fully support my country. The squad is dreadful though, really is. However, words cannot describe the utter disdain and hatred I feel right now for Carrick, Richards and that donkey **** Crouch for turning their backs on their country like this. Shame on them.
lol. True that. No one is forced to support the national team, although Id be slightly put out if they basically supported anyone who wasn't England, that's slightly ****ed up. Im looking forward to watching every game I can, nowt wrong with that of course, but I will be supporting England. Not sure why people who wont support or watch England, feel its their duty to let everyone else know and to make sure everyone knows how much they don't like England.
I support my England because it's my ****ing country. Despite the fact were **** and don't stand a chance of winning a major competition any time in the next ten years. It's pretty much the same as supporting the **** Hull City team i supported in div four. **** yes,but my ****
Can't bring myself to support the England football team, I have no affinity with any of the players and am so aghast by so many of the selections that hodgson has made, just can't do it, sh1t team, sh1t players with a collectivley sh1t attitude. When it comes to your club, you make a choice as to who to support, so no matter how crap you support them through thick or thin, internationally though you make no choice about who to support, you'r estuck with the country of your birth, the only choice you can make is not to support them, so that's my choice. Euro 2008 was simply the best tournament in living memory simply because we weren't there and I could enjoy the football.
Agree with all of this. And this. I don't get why supporting England is different to clubs. If City were **** you wouldn't just stop going would you? We've been **** for enough of our history to know the answer to that. Why is it OK to do it with England?
Don't want to drag this old chesnut up again but it seems i just can't help myself. You don't choose your club at all. You just support your home town club,Whether they're **** or great. Otherwise your a twat !
Well yes....but judging by the amount of Liverpool / Man U etc shirts in Hull it's quite clear that not everyone chooses their home team, plus people from two team cities, Liverpool, Sheffield, Manchester etc can't choose their 'home town club' and must at some point make a decision. So i'd say that for most football fans there is at some point a conscious decision as to who they choose to support, whether that makes them a twat is a different conversation
I come from an era where footballers pulling on their England shirt was THE ultimate accolade to their careers, even to get in the squad was something to be cherished. To say its been degraded today is an affront to the word degraded, its an utter shambles what they cry off with today at the slightest pretense. And that goes for most of the teams making up the UK, the continentals still seem to have some pride in their countries shirts though.
There shouldn't be a choice in most cases. Generally it's a case of being taken by your dad before you even give a **** and it being your club for life. Isn't it?
You don't support the England team you support your country who are represented by the England team. When England beats someone like Argentina I think of it as we the English have beaten them the Argentinians. The same goes for Hull City and Yorkshire.
My Dad's a Chelsea fan, and there are pictures of me as a child with Chelsea hats and scarves etc on, however growing up I made a choice to support City instead. With England, i've always passionately supporeted them, but more recently I have found myself so dissapointed and dissilusioned with the squad choices and the attitudes of the players that I cannot bring myself to support them so I have chosen to not support them at this tournament, I won't be supporting anyone else just trying to enjoy the football on show
Isn't that the caricature German barmaids? I've never noticed anything huge about most of them. I like German women because they are usually more matter of fact and straight forward whereas a lot of English women can tie themselves in knots thinking about how they should be seen to behave.
I won't be going to Poland or Ukraine but I will be supporting the England team. It's something you shouldn't analyse.
