And now favorite with many bookies. Thinks he's a rel possibility, as he's free. Also used to play for Barcelona, so would be perfectly suited to us. Other contenders don't seem feasible.

    Jones - turned down job
Poyet - 4 years left on contract so too expensive
Holloway - don't think he'd be taken seriously
    Desailly - no experience

No-one else is really in the betting, so unless it's a complete surprise choice, looks like Laudrup could be the one.

Off-topic but someone new appeared in the betting - Antoine Kombouare.

Can't say I've ever heard of him but he's managed Strasbourg, Valenciennes & Paris St Germain (replaced with Carlo Ancelotti).

    Speculation,speculation,and yet more speculation.

Oh,and not to forget the speculation on the speculation.

I'm tired of it,but no doubt the speculation will continue unabated despite my speculating that it's really a waste of good time to keep on speculating.

As far as I can speculate,it's all merely conjecture, anyway. <whistle>

The speculation posts are the most popular by a country mile. Everyone loves to speculate, even the ones who claim not to like it. But I know what you mean Vetch. Once we have a new manager we can start speculating on which players and coming and going.

Speculation is more popular than the actual matches. Of course, that's pure speculation on my part.

No. Drifting out. Will cost a lot of money to buy him out of 4 years of his contract.

The biggest thing I'd like to see on our radar , more importantly than all the manager speculation , is talk about the academy & training ground issues . Hardly a word from anyone from top to bottom . These are the things that will help lure managers & players in the future . We know we'll get a manager soon , really not sure about the academy & training ground as it just seems to drag on .

We need someone now...today or yesterday......we are wasting time speculating as nobody can read jinks mind...will he do the sensible thing in our most difficult season coming up and offer laudrup who is free and the perfect choice or will he not care what happens and go the cheap option either way we need someone now.....Cheap may work in the lower leagues but i dont think it will work in the premiership......

Cheap is NEVER an option in the Premier League. Neither is inexperience. Therefore, for me the top two candidates would be Laudrup and Poyet followed by Holloway of those in contention. Outside of that, someone like Zola would tick the boxes for me.

Jenkins is in Holland, is he seeing Laudrup, or Dennis Bergkamp? he will definitely be calling in to see old Bodde, to smooth things over on his release, but that's just the side show, so who's it going to be Berkamp, or Laudrup? thought I'd get you tarts going................. ..............<laugh>............<cheers>

He's so stressed out by recent events that he's going to Amsterdam for some stress-relief.
