As some of you are aware i sometimes get some info regarding our beloved swans. Well i have been told that we are in for Phillip Cocu to take over from rodgers.

i posted this earlier but i thought it would be a good discussion thread to see what the thoughts of my fellow swans are

    Cheers

He's a rookie though isn't he? Having said that he's been a number two at international level and was a fantastic player who would instantly command respect in the dressing room. We could do worse. Jones for instance.

Well that brought me out of my boredom Mabon !!

Same as KJ really, but this does fit Huw's profile so its a possibilty. We dont need major surgery anyway and i would be well happy to maintain a healthy Dutch connection, its where we have had alot of success with players bodde,de vries, VDR, kemy and vorm .

Coco only needs to be a steady hand here and maybe add 1 or 2 people to the squad i would be alot happier with him than the assistant manager of wigan <ok>

PSV finished 3rd this season ,I'm not sure how much time he's had a coach ( about 6 games for PSV) .they did win the Cup (FA cup equivalent ) with him .He was with the Dutch management team in South Africa so he's been around at the top table in some capacity and we appear to always after Dutch players ,another good source of young hungry players so may be worth a look.Is he out of contract ?

no he's not as PSV has him in down as youth manager now that Dick Advocat is taking over from him being the caretaker manager, one for the future they are saying, I have my doubts but MabonJack seems to think so

I'm starting to think he's worth a punt, but if HJ does what he normally does, it'll be nobody we've talked about! <laugh>

Seems he didn't fancy staying as Head Coach at PSV opting to coach the youth team. PSV rate him as a coach for the future, however. He's a high profile candidate with a huge playing career behind him and some decent management experience. Not been a No 1 though for very long but neither has Jones and I know who I would prefer.

With Laudrup, Poyet and Cocu (perhaps) all in the frame, the calibre of our candidates is creeping up. Encouraging.

...as it should be ivor. People forget we're a Prem Club that has played some outstanding stuff and was also doing so before Rodgers came here. We are an attractive proposition for anyone imo.

And it's also a beautiful part of the world, so I'm told. <whistle>

Inside SCFC RUMOUR - Marcel Desailly is currently in Swansea preparing to meet Huw Jenkins. He's had his odds put down from 14/1 to 8/1 ..he has never managed a club before but has got his badges studying swansea, he has links with a few clubs one being chelsea....This appointment would suit jinx down to the ground, A fresh newbie straight after doing his badges that wont cost to much...

If desailly is in Swansea as we speak, then he's not going to sign. The tide is out and it's chucking it down!
