So we have had King Kev and King Kenny..... We need to welcome another King into the Liverpool family. It seems Lebron James, or King James as he is known, has bought a minority stake in Liverpool FC. We know he is minted let's see a few of them dollars eh Mr. James? Not gonna lie, saw this on sportscenter and just thought to myself , " What? Who? How?" So that is one positive signing down !
I think we'll now see an influx of american sports stars wanting a piece of FSG. This can only mean good things for Liverpool as it's more money in the pot and these people do not have a say in anything
From what I've heard,He hasn't really ''bought'' anything.FSG are working with his marketing firm and as part of this,He's got a minority stake in Liverpool. However as you said,it will mean capital going into the Liverpool coffers. He will have again as you said have no say in the running of the club.
That's a strange one? Might see him in Anfield soon then! What is/was the American team that had a load of minority celebrity owners?? I think Emilio Estevez was one of them?? Or maybe I just dreamed the whole thing, I love Emilio!
I think they gave him a minority stake in Liverpool as some sort of signing on fee. They seem to be hoping to use his image to publicise Liverpool in the US and Asia, and in return try and get him promotional deals of the back of his increased profile. I doubt he'll be putting money directly into the club, or having any big involvement, but both James and Liverpool will benefit in terms of greater commercial appeal.
Great name..... and I see all your posts are on the Liverpool board too! I will bid you good day sir.
Look, I know LBJ won't give a dime to LFC, it is all we use your name you use our name, etc. He has more money than he probably knows what to do with it, but that cash is meant for nights out on South beach, clothes, cars, etc. Also for Rogaine on his ever decreasing hairline.
I'm sure I said exactly the same thing on another post somewhere... I remember trying to look it up :-/ - incidently they were never owned by Emilio Estivez, they were owned by Disney though (A true Mickey Mouse outfit)
No clue on that, As far as Celebrities or sports people having some ownership in other teams, Jay-z with the Nets, Steve Nash owns Vancuver Whitecaps, Drew Carey has a share in the Seattle Sounders, and I want to say Montreal Impact has a celebrity owner but I think gillette has his hands in that one!!! Gloria Estefan has a share in Miami Dolphins NFL team, Nelly has a small stake in the Charlotte Bobcats team ( Michael Jordan owns them), Jon Bon Jovi owned the Philadelphia Soul AFL team, Usher has a small stake in the Cleveland Cavaliers. Those are more of the American ones, not sure on the British side other than Elton John and Watford.
I think if a team moves to LA he does? I know he has a whole league he runs for youth and coaches a team as well. He has a tricked out bus as well that is pretty sweet, although it is the colors of Oakland, which might be the team you are thinking of.
Yes! It's the Dolphins I was thinking about. Can't believe I couldn't remember that since it's the only American sport I actually watch! Emilio Estevez - Emilio Estefan (Gloria's husband!), It's the same thing! They also have Jimmy Buffet, Marc Anthony, Venus and Serena Williams and Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas!
and the Dolphins are still terrible haha. Also when it comes to support, Miami are notorious for being pretty poor. Even With D-Wade, LBJ, and Chris Bosh, the new big three, when the game starts half the people still aren't there! better to be fashionably late than support your team from the off I suppose.
He might his LA wish soon enough, but again the support college athletics a lot more than pro teams, hence why they have failed every time ( Other than Basketball, talking American Football). USC and UCLA are huge schools and well we all know about he Lakers and Kobe.
