So all I need to do is accept that the Queen is the Head of the C of E? Fine, I'll accept that. Never said otherwise. Just because I accept that doesn't mean I have to be religious does it? Can I have my "I'm not a hypocrite" badge now please?

I never said either way. It was a quote from Einstein that you were too stupid to understand.

We are all born ignorant, but thefanwithnoname must work hard to remain that way <ok>

You are a hypocrite if you celebrate a religious institution, whilst claiming atheism

you never claimed that did you? if anything you are uncertain?

I accept that the Church of England exists and that the Queen is its head. As a practising Catholic and a citizen of the UK, I also accept that the Queen is my Head of State, represents the nation well and deserves to be applauded on her 60th anniversary. I really don't see how that's hypocritical.
If you had Catholic friends and they invited you to their child's christening would you refuse to attend? Do you refuse to go to funerals or weddings if they're held in a church?

You said that anyone from religions other than the CofE (including Catholics by the way)who celebrate it are hypocrites. As far as i'm concerned you can accept that someone is the head of an institution you might not believe in but also wish that person well for doing a great job.
