Agree. It would be good to get the views of the Swans fans. My recollection of Swansea's record is that Martinez laid the foundations and Rodgers built on it. Still a big achievement. My point is that turning round and pulling up a team and getting it to play better football is a different proposition. Lawrenson says it is a massive gamble for the scousers. I would agree with him. Have the scousers got players to play like Barcelona ? They certainly have the players to play like Wimbledon <laugh>

So you would say Fergie had a similar squad to work with than Kenny last year? KK really was dreadful.

Martinez wasn't fired for being incompetent like Kenny, or assembling a team full of ****e, like Kenny.

He created their style of play and was really successful. When he left, he left a great team playing attractive football and Rodgers benefited from this. Fact is you have no idea how Rodgers would have done if Swansea lumped the ball around like Stoke and were in need of an overhaul.

He did great managing a team when he inherited a team with a great attacking style of play and the players to match it. At liverpool he has neither.

No doubt he can improve Liverpool, who couldn't, but when reality comes knocking and you finish next year in 5th to 7th I wager the knives will be out for poor Brendan.

It is you who are thick like most of the scousers fans are. BIg Breasted Fool the bigoted c**t like KKK.

Who slated Rodgers you silly c**t? I said he was a gamble. F**k off to your own board you ******ed bigot! Just because you are upset at the sacking of KKK...and Rodgers got 4 points out 6 from the scousers. Big deal! The scousers hve been a sh*t in the league. No special merit is there? Hahaha. Di mateo improved a failing team whilst Rodgers carried on from where Martinez Left. Big difference Big Breasted Fool but you are as thick as two planks I wouldn't expect a c*nt like you to understand that. I said he still deserved credit. So f**k off if you don't like what s being said on this board.

Rodgers will deserve a medal if he turns a bunch of hopeless players bought athigh Cost by KKK the buffoon and transform them into a passing team. He will deserve all the credit in the world. It is incredible how the scousers has been dragged so low by that buffoon that a young manager with some decent football credentials had to be recruited. As comas said at least now we do not have to deal with KKK and his dodgy views.

No point discussing with Big Breasted Fool that silly c*nt. She is thick as two planks and would not be able to see the difference.

    That would explain a lot.

Football is a lot more complicated than making sandwiches.

Man Utd's squad is miles better then Liverpool, even Spur's squad is much 100 times better then Liverpool, thats how **** Liverpool is, start of last season you scouser's were saying you were challenging for top four and ****ing finished 8th :cheesy: not even close to 5th spot forget the 4th spot, Liverpool are now just a mid table club, they would never get in the top four again

    <ok>

They are currently a mid table club. The thriumphalism shown by their manager and fans for winning the Carling Club seemed to confirm it.

However having got rid of the buffoon of a manager, who was taking them into the gutter, they seem to have recruited someone who can give them a chance. However, some of their fans are still deluded. Calling themsleves the biggest club in Britain etc etc when clearly they WERE possibly the biggest club many many decades ago (last century in fact) and haven't been for a very long time.

From a swans fan - Martinez did implement our style of play yes, but under him we were just an all out attack side. Score more than the opposition etc.
After he jumped ship he took Scotland and Gomez along with him who were responsible for 40 of our goals that season. So when we appointed Sousa we had no choice but to beef up our defence... We kept the style of play but suffered in front of goal immensely, scoring the lowest amount in the division (40) but still finishing 7th.
After 1 season then Sousa also decided to move on to 'better things' to which Rodgers was appointed as manager. He brought in the likes of Sinclair and borini on loan. He sort of found a middle between all out attack and just relentless defending resulting in our promotion.
Although Rodgers did great for us he is by no means irreplaceable. Our chairman will only hire someone who already believes in the football we play.
As for how he will fare at Liverpool?... Well he left Watford for reading with a very similar job to do. The reading players were not equipped to play the style Rodgers was asking and as a result was sacked within 6 months. Square pegs in round holes etc.
Rodgers was good here because we were good for Rodgers. Our team must take the majority of credit for what we have achieved, he just fine tuned what was already in place.
Not bitter by the way, I actually wish him all the best, i just think he would have been more suited to a tottenham type of job.

This is what I thought. He fine- tuned a team already equipped to play that style of play. That is not to say that he does not deserve credit for a good job. He will have his work cut out however to get the scousers to play a patient passing style.

The poor man is already under massive pressure from some deluded scousers with unrealistic expectations to be the biggest and best club in England. What deluded morons living in the distant past <laugh>
