Why if the all the "takeover" rumours are true, would Leeds United FC sign up for another deal with Yorkshire FM & Munster FM? It seems to me to be very strange for any company that has a possible "takeover" in the business plan, to agree to any contract whilst negotiations with any possible new owners take place. I would suggest that this contract agreement perhaps tells us more about what is really happening.
That way the new company will have to honour them contracts so bates (yorkshire radio) will get an extra year
They are related parties, could have been put on hold. Smells like part of a stitch-up or no takeover happening.
From what I read on the club site it seems it's a deal between Yorkshire Radio and Minster FM, rather than between Leeds United and Yorkshire Radio, and as it stands Yorkshire Radio still hold our match rites.
It could be that bates sells Leeds United but wants to hold on to the radio company so he can still have a hold over us in some way. Unlikely though as YR is a loss making company
but if he can set up a contract before selling by which the club continues to keep Yorkshire Radio afloat... Then again, Leeds United could just sack all of the Yorkshire Radio staff and Yorkshire Radio would then be ****ed.
