Give a him a 1 year contract. No reason for more. He has to prove his credentials IMO

He also needs to appreciate what a big opportunity he has been given and stop all the carping about not being able to compete.

i think the penny dropped with the England snub.

i recall his interview after the Fulham game when he said..

'Spurs is my club, this is my team'

something he should have said the day after Capello left..however mybe now he has realised this is the best job he will ever get.

The penny dropped when it was too his advantage and not before.

On second thoughts don't give him a contract at all. Day to day Mr Redknapp, day to day, just in case somebody better pops up. You know rather like you and the England job, oh and the Liverpool job.

    Use him. <ok>

Harry boy burnt most of his bridges with me over the England farce. It cost us a, pretty much certain, CL place. As to replacements, yes Moyes, or I still rate Martinez.

well yeah he had no choice but to sy he loves our club or he would have had the biggest embarrasment in his life..

from talking himself up as England gaffer to not getting that job and shown the door by us.

i can tell your still as angry as you was with him whist we were going through this fiasco...and i dont blame you...he has alot of bridges to build as NSIS has pointed out.

I just don't like bullshit Spurlock and Harry is a leading purveyor. I always remember when he was offered the Newcastle job but turned it down because of his 'loyalty' to Pompey. I remember thinking that's nice to hear in this day and age. Then I was promptly shown the error of my confidence in him when he promptly joined Southampton. Then vice versa or verse vica. (I lost track of that particular series of moves).

I accept that in todays football there is little place for loyalty. Managers have to look after themselves it's a high risk job. Fair enough but let's not have the faux this is my club bollocks.

i think we all share that sentiment...lets see if he does knuckle down in the forthcoming season...Levy could do worse than to gag him from talking to the papers about any job but the Spurs one...this season will make or break him i think for us fans.

That's right Spurlock, this season will show if he still has the fight to merit the job. He could still become a legend at Spurs. THIS is his chance (as I have said before) let's hope he takes that fully on board. He needs a tactics guru for a start, employ one Harry!

If Levy stands by him that will be good enough for me. Right or wrong Levy's decision will be for the right reasons.

Just to clarify here, but Harry turned down the Newcastle job when he was in his second spell at Portsmouth. It was in his first spell at Pompey when he quit for Southampton.

Levy has already gagged him from talking to the papers. His last column writing for The Sun newspaper was at the end of January.

I have to agree with Spurf on this one. We gave the guy his shot at " the big time". I mean before Spurs, where was he? Nowhere!... Spammers, Portsmouth Southampton - oh sorry, I forgot mighty Bournemouth, of course. We give him his chance, and what does he do? Bigs himself up at every opportunity - refuses to accept any blame for any failings, and finally, at the first sniff of " something better" he's chomping at the bit to be off...subtle, or what??

It was kept in-house Spurlock, so it probably bypassed a number of people. Not sure of the exact date, but it was around the time of the end of Harry's trial, and Levy "reccommended" to Harry that he dropped his weekly column in the Sun for the time being. As I say, his last posting was back in January <ok>
