On 2nd June last year Hughes announced his resignation. He was expected to take over at Aston Villa who ironically today have announced the appointment of Lambert as their new manager. I think only Lambert of the 3 enjoyed the last 12 months.
In my eBook (sorry to bring it up again, really) I wrote 'only time will tell how long [Swansea and Norwich] can keep hold of Brendan Rodgers and Paul Lambert'. Less than a fortnight, it turns out. That probably sums up the irresistable flow of talent from the smaller clubs to the bigger. On which subject... any news about our bid for Rhodes? For all that we bemoan big-club syndrome when it means losing the likes of Dempsey, DemPele, etc, we quite like it when we're the beneficiaries.
Just that he's bagged 2 more goals, Captain - this time for Scotland U21s http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/football/scotland/2012/06/02/jordan-rhodes-is-uk-s-most-lethal-striker-now-he-must-shoot-his-way-into-scotland-s-2014-world-cup-squad-says-mark-wotte-86908-23883069/ Interesting to note that the Scots footy director is a Dutchman and he seems pretty clear that Rhodes is 'moving up'.
I'd love to write an expanded - full length - version, but the current one has to sell well before I can even think about persuading anyone to publish a revised one. To be fair, it's only been out a couple of weeks!
