Not the most talented players to ever grace the Leeds United shirt, but one of the most dedicated and always gave his all. I'm sure he will get a good reception when he runs out the next time at ER.

May make a decent manager one day, he certainly has the football experience and commitment. I would imagine any team he manages will have very fit players who only ever give 100%.

So many people slagged Hughesy when he was playing for us. He lived in Harrogate and was great mates with the guys at KD Carpets.

He epitomises the spirit that should run through every LUFC player. If they don't have that, we should not emplo them.

Strachan had the same but with extra talent.

what we need are players withn his spirit, but with more talent. Truth is he was not good enough for above L1, which he himself recognised.

Which is why people respected him so much. Compare him to alot of other poor players who think they are gods gift

Also worth mentioning is the level of grace and dignity that he displayed upon learning that he was being transferred away from Leeds.

Yes, could not agree more. I remember the interview when we were promoted - he knew if he helped Leeds get promoted, he was probably on his way. I perhaps did not express it as well as I could, I meant that if some of the more talented players we have had in then club had had his attitude, even with the current leadership things might have been different.

Well, imagine if we had the same talented players and a different leadership. Their attitude may have just been as needed.

All good and valid opinions - where would we be if we had had more committed players vs where would we be if we had differnt leadership with the same players? Who knows?
