He might be getting on a bit, and be a bit slow, but he seems to be the only England player that can actually deliver a cross on target,

They should get him, as assistant manager it is, nothing more.
MLS is way below european level, no way he kept his level high enough to make it to the England squad.
Why don't you guys put Sturridge on? Or try Rooney on the flank, he has the speed and technique to make a good cross towards Welbeck for example.
You can always give it a go...

I've always thought Rooney would be better in midfield, but he has a tendency to make silly passes across the back putting the defence under unneeded pressure. My point in Beckham is he can actually cross the ball, the likes of Lennon, Downing, Henderson, Milner et al can't.

    Well, ehm, then eh...
Nathan Dyer? It's the only player in the EPL i can think of that can throw in a decent cross, the rest is all foreign.
Everything is better then Beckham now, at his age he's deteriorating fast as a midfielder.

And i think the main problem with the EPL is that the entire league is centered on transfers. Look at Chelsea and Newcastle for example. They are already looking at dozens of players to sign, why not throw in a youngster in the first team for this season. If every club would do that, you'd get something going for the national squad.
You loan them out to the lower clubs, which 9 out of 10 times gives them low self-esteem, morale and they lack quality around them to make a good impression. Their club is not satisfied and eventually dumps the player. Brilliant example of this is Bruma and Van Aanholt at Chelsea. Dutch CD's loaned out to Leicester City, didn't impress much, Bruma is now at Hamburg SV and Van Aanholt is now playing for Vitesse. Bruma has played 4 or 5 matches this season, Van Aanholt about 10. It just destroys talent.

Beckham would probably rather hold out for a pity place in the Olympics.

Havent thought about the Olympics, maybe he could get a coaching or assistant manager position there. Easily to combine once every four years with his high maintenance haircut and wife:laugh:

Beckham as a walking dead ball specialist to put balls on Carroll's head perhaps?

Other than that, he shouldn't be anywhere near the squad- no.
