Hake? A great fish. I'm more of a monkfish, creme fraiche and chilli jam sort of bloke.

By the way I had a nice gurnard and roasted vegetable gratin earlier this week at my club. Wonderful with a half bottle of Shiraz rose

And what's wrong with Anarchist's Swords ? There are more of us about than you might think.
Personally I'm glad of the extra bank Holiday 'cos it's another £100 towards my season ticket but I much prefer to celebrate MayDay :)

Let me congratulate all those of you that have the holiday off - I think we should too - after all, we recognize her as Queen of Canada too

COL = Proud of my heritage and country. Always have been, always will be!! Respect to all people who are patriotic and proud of where they come from! (However, please don't confuse this with jingoistic, foreigner hating war-mongering!!)

I for one sense COL is not a 'send the buggers back' type at all. The world is big and we have no divine rights just because we were lucky enough to be born here. My Beef bourguignon about the UK is based on what i have seen since going to France and I think we have lost a lot and what remains isn't exactly what our culture was about. I respect the FRench for hanging on to theirs at al costs.. Our arrogance has cost us IMO.
The beauty of England has never lost its appeal for me and I was lucky enough to be born in a beautiful part, I live in the best City in the world which is in fact a small country now ... I just fear for the thing that cannot be touched or explained correctly about us as a nation whatever it is ... its gone if we are all to be realistic. Our Hertiage/histories is great of course apart from when i have to pay £8 just to park at Studland Beach ... copy that across to other places with great heritage's ... it don't add up IMO . Studland Beach near my ladies weekend retreat is a nice beach ... is it close to the beaches of south west France and do I pay £8 to park ... no.

We can harp on and I love Elgar as well as the next man but they are things gone wrong here and underneath people are getting away with serious crimes ... they are smiling while we wave our flags from Tesco's (nice little earner) ... Its all about the money

You vote for the rock or the hard place in the referendum Swords? I am an occassionally patriotic republican who enjoys holidays, whatever the reason.

Excuse me I am having a rant about how everyone is wishing each other a Happy Jubilee Weekend ...its not meant to make any sense.

The Royal families of the past in this country have causes nothing but heartache and misery for millions of people ... Bloody Lizards:

Roll on Wednesday - bloody money making racket!

The only decent royal is now dead due to all she did for charity, although this will never be proved unfortunately (allegedly). Can't ever see the queen walking round mine fields!
