Is this a good thing or not. Is he good enough for the first team or a bench warmer ? Thoughts..... ?
I definitely rate Clyne and would love us to sign him but I'd be worried that it may be too much pressure for someone untested at this level and so young. I'd like if we had him and another, reliable RB since we're going to be playing a lot of games next season. Simpson and Clyne would be nice, so we could ease him into the team, or someone else.
I really want Debuchy Even more so since I seen him and Ben Arfa linking up so well in the Iceland game :|
Oh **** aye! Forgot about Debuchy!! Debuchy as our starter, Clyne for rotation/cup games and Simpson at one one of QPR/Southampton/Reading since they will be looking to splash out on wages.
I'd be happy to see young Clyne come in. Can play both sides like Santon. I also like the idea of keeping a good british base in the squad. Exciting prospect and soon out of contract. Him and Hoilett are two of the better out of contract youngsters. Not fussed on Debuchy either way. Would rather have a natural left footed left back so Santon can move over into his natural role at right back.
Hey Southampton fan in peace, when we played them he was the man we targeted for a defender he is tiny he's 5 foot 7. And we just got our target man to peel onto him and had great success. But he is quality on the floor just very suspect in the air.
I also like the idea of a good british base to the squad but I wouldn't want to do it for the sake of it when we can bring in a better quality (potentially) foreign player, why hamper the quality of the team just to be more british? I do agree it would make more sense bringing in an established LB though, as I would also love to see Santon switched to the right, I think the balance would be off though, Santon and Ben Arfa are both very attacking and arguably lack defensive talent, whereas if Santon stays on the left he will playing behind Gutierrez who is very defensive so the balance would be right, we probably need someone established defensively to compliment Ben Arfa.
