Transfer Season Is Open

Let the fun and games start. In today's Daily Mail it's been reported Roma chasing Davide Santon. Bloody hell we've only just got him settled and playing great.

 

"Unsettled Newcastle midfeilder David Santon, 25, is currently considering a move to Spanish giants Roma who finished runners up in in Ligue 1 this season. Disillusioned after the 'Tooncastle army' threw away a champions league spot, Santone is said to be looking for a move to bigger and better things and last year's CL finalists Roma look the most likely destination for the talented Tunisian.

A bid of £5m could be enough to tempt a sale from under-pressure Newcastle manager Alex Pardew who has had a disappointing season after being turned down for the England job and he may use the money to bid for England striker Peter Crouch, who enjoyed a fine season at Stoke FC on loan from Liverpool. Sources at the club say Pardew is keen to revert to the 442 formation he used in the magpies promotion season with senegal sensation Djibril Cisse who scored 12 goals this season looking for a strike partner with Djemba Djemba Ba all but confirmed to be playing in the blue and white of Tottenham next season."
