C. Sir Alex was spending the clubs money not someone else's money.

D. Most of Sir Alex's signings have been relative unknowns.

E. Man Utd and Sir Alex have been outspent by the likes of Blackburn, Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham and Newcastle during the Premier League era, and still they have come out on top.

 

He has based his team on a group of club grown players but has regularly topped up the squad with 20-30 mill players when the squad needs overhauling.

Well considering during that time we've been playing catchup(or trying to)the differential of £49m over such a long period of time is understandable.

In fact if you count the amount of trophies we've won in those 19 years(including a CL)it hasn't all been a total waste of money.

Of course not and we all accept that you dont win anything without spending that money. (ask Arsenal), Its more about proving we've never done what city are doing.

Before City and Chelsea struck gold it would probably have been us topping that table, but we never had the kind of margin they do. Somewhere else on that site it shows them having spend £250 million more than the second highest over the last 5 years(and thats chelsea) and thats just stupid.

 

I agree mate,and as you know the money we've spent trying to 'catch up' has been been money we've generated(apart from the loans of H&G),the FFP rules might not work but the the fingers will be pointed in the direction of the clubs that break the rule and anything they win will be seen as tainted.
