I can't remember exactly, but wasn't his time at Everton a bit underwhelming?

It's Hughton all day long for me.

i would agree about his time at everton. however, the job he did at rangers in his last three years, winning the title each season despite never spending a penny on new players was exceptional. its only a suggestion as a stop-gap - straight out of the left field!

walter smith as manager with karl robinson his understudy. could work - who knows!!

Good question. To be honest, it would be a lottery to look past Hughton at the moment. I think Holloway overshadows his players and whilst I'm an admirer of what Robinson has done at the Dons, his lack of league football as a player means his contacts at a higher level might not be up to the mark.
Ferguson has the right philosophy to my mind but he stepped up to the plate and struck out. Billy Davies did well at Forest but is a bit of a loose cannon with his directors.
I just think with the influx of foreign players and managers, our club's philosophy means we have a very narrow choice. Yes Chris Hughton for me.

yep, agree with just about everything you've said! chris hughton is the stand out manager. i feel he not only gives us our best chance of holding our own, but also to push on and improve on last season. i think he's absolutely perfect for our club. i just hope that the board agree and that we can afford to prise him away from birmingham. i think he'd be interested <ok>

Guys, been a big admirer of you and how you have gone about your buisness. I know how you all are feeling at the moment with us both losing our managers. Please dont have lennon the bloke is a clown and i want to continue liking norwich. But not with him in charge.

I am sure you will find the right manager and will continue with you progress.

On a side note you list is certainly looking better than ours at the mo.

    Good luck.

Hmmm. You hate Neil Lennon but love Walter Smith. You from East Belfast by any chance?

It's Chris Houghton 1st choice & if not Gus Poyet 2nd for me. Poyet has a good over seas contact base and especially south Americans.

I fine Neil Lennon the most detestable manager out there. Just a truly horrid person with no class or ability to be honest, I'd rather have Roeder back.

The prospect of Lennon taking charge is just not exciting, in fact I'm more excited about my next poo.

Sorry, I'm just feeling down right now. We all are I know. It just sucks.

i'm not from belfast, no. my granddad used to work for rangers so i have a connection to the club and although it may slightly cloud my judgement on all things rangers-celtic, i'm sure i will be backed up by many who think walter smith is a better manager than neil lennon is <ok>

"Slightly cloud your judgement"! Are you having a laugh? How was it that I, not knowing you from Adam and having only ever read two of your posts, noticed straight away that your motives were not Norwich motivated?

Your sheer venom towards Neil Lennon alerted me immediately and then you punt for an old man who has retired from the game but just happened to be Rangers' most successful Manager in the past? Your mask has slipped mate. We all know what you really are.

actually, i based my judgement of neil lennon from two face to face meetings with the guy, from before he even had a celtic connection. i'll admit that looking back i may exaggerate my view slightly but he was a horrible, horrible man, rude and aggressive, arrogant and vile.

my suggestion of smith was totally left field and as a mentor to a younger manager, ie karl robinson. walter smith won countless trophies on a shoe-string budget for rangers and has indicated a willingness to manage in england again. i see no harm at all in offering him as a suggestion for my club. i am not a rangers fan and i don't despise celtic either. i think they are a great club and have amazing fans, as they proved last week when they came to norwich for a friendly. you'll notice that other norwich fans have built up similar views of lenny from what they've seen on tv and in interviews, so i'm hardly alone in my opinion.

    so kindly **** off <ok>

Okay mate, I may have mis-read you. Not that I like Celtic myself. I'm very suspicious of both the Ugly-Sisters of Glasgow. And I've no doubt Lennon is a Knob-End. You'd know that just by looking at him. I just thought there was some bigotry in there but I apologize if I was wide of the mark.

For what its worth I think you could do better than Smith. Too old. A good young Manager like Lambert is the ticket you're after.

I think thats the point my sabre carrying friend. We had an ex Celtic player as manager and there was certainly never ever a mention of the horrible bigoted opinions that still prevail in Glasgow, among other places.
Many of us just feel, having never met Lennon, that its possible the baggage that he currently carries could well journey south with him.
We love to be in the news but for footballing reasons.

<ok> swords. i'm no bigot - one of the main reasons i don't feel anything more than a slight tingling for rangers fc. apologies for telling you to **** off.

    ps. i think lambert's taken ;)
