Why would such an agreement be of any benefit to Rogers? He's Liverpool manager now so doesn't give 2 hoots for us and would probably love a couple of our players to help implement his football there.
This is excellent work by Jenkins, and to suggest otherwise is ludicrous!

Dai its a common clause put in when managers are poached, well done Huw Jenkins! Still think Brendon must be a favourite to win the sack race, anyone know the odds?

what planet are you on you cant enter a clause to say brendan cant come in for our players, who is going to impliment that clause as brendan was joining liverpool anyway...it was a gentlemans agreement by brendan as no such clause can ever be included....think about it...what could jinks do...say that brendan cant join liverpool <laugh> absolutly nothing to do with a ficticious clause.. impossible and all to make you think jinks is the man <doh>

Dai, as part of the compensation claim, hj has insisted a clause be put in that they can't bid for our players. It's a binding contract. If it wasn't, liverpool could turn around and tell us their not paying the compensation as it was a gentleman's agreement.

Your off your rocker if you think otherwise.

Better than trying to constantly find ways to show Jenkins ain't the man , as we strive along ! With you on that Gendros & I'm not hoping Rodgers will fail , I'm just expecting it . My money is on Buck to be first to go next season !

Superswan you need to give up this mate , you know sod all about has been agreed beyond what the club has said, you are not privvy to confidential negotiations so you have no idea. I know BT and Virgin Media have the same agreement in Swansea, the reason I know is that my aunt and uncle who are high up the ladder in both companies have this in place.

The contracts between Swansea and Liverpool, has nothing to do with Rodgers. Liverpool would be in breach of a legal contract, so Swansea could sue. I would however say if Man U came in for Joe, then Liverpool could make a bid.

Correct. Dai talking out of his preferred orifice: his ass.

I've been banging on about this for days. It's not uncommon for this to be woven into the agreement for compensation. Or is that a 'gentlemen's agreement' too? <doh> Liverpool fans have fully expected this to be a term if you look at their board and they should know.

It's a contract, guys. Legally binding. If Rodgers comes in for our players then it couldn't have been included as a term. If he doesn't then it is, and contrary to what dai-pea-brain says Jenkins is learning fast. <applause>

    Debate over.

impossible clause as it is an infringement on players rights..Fact.....all that can happen is a mutual agreement that we can ask for and for liverpool to accept..and that is the rules. nobody can jepadize or interfear with any players career.Fact jinks cannot in any shape or form put a clause in any clubs dealings that they cant come in for our players...absolutely impossible....liverpool have granted our wish not to come in for our players for the next 12 months, so its liverpool and brendan who you should be thanking and be greatful for that as they have no oblegation to do that......And anyone who has knowllege of football rules should know that. if you dont then there is no arguing with you as your ignorant of the rules and only guessing....I am not..<ok> it is impossible Fact

Now the debate is over mr i know nothing kangaroo numpty..<ok>

How can it infringe on players rights if the approach must be made by the club first ? How would the player know that his rights are being infringed by Liverpool not bidding on him ? Can you point to any employment legislation that would say this ? Can you point to anything by FIFA that says such agreements cannot be made ? Can you point to anywhere it says this clause is not possible ?

Sorry but you are simply wrong, this is a commercial decision made by the two clubs at director level, not by a nod and wink by Brendan

im not going to explain valley if you cant understand a simple fact of infringement of players rights. its plain and simple to see why it would go against their right to speak to any club....the club themselves have got to agree that they wont come in for our players...jinks cant do that its impossible....

Why because you can't ? And you have just contradicted yourself further down, you have said a gentlemans agreement previously suggesting a verbal agreement by Brendan not to come in for our players, now you are saying the clubs have agreed it, meaning that Liverpool as a club has agreed contractually that they will not bid on our players.

That agreement was ratified by huw and our directors, and Liverpool's hierarchy, without a written agreement it will mean they will be able to bid, you can by the way put any agreement into a contract as long as its legal and not unfair !

Now either point to employment law in this or stipulation by FIFA or admit you are wrong.
