We'd miss him if he reached top form once again, not if he was a passenger who could no longer beat his man like at many times last season. I'm still veering towards believing given a full pre season and this summer break he will come back stronger than last season.
In a word, no. If any of; Chester, Koren, Fryatt, Hobbs, Rosey, Evans or McKenna left I'd be pissed off. Wouldn't be in the slightest bit arsed if Stewart went and if a half decent bid came in I'd be happy to see him go. IMO.
I would suggest that Celtic will drop out of the equation soon if Neil Lennon leaves for Norwich City. It would be silly to sell one of your better players to a rival(lesta + wolves) thats for sure. Stewart hit a brick wall last season after being out so long. The so called fans who have a go at him dont have a clue, imo. Cammy needs a full and proper pre-season and a plan B. (ie.how to beat 2 defenders not just 1). The message from the KC to all other clubs should be to Foook Off and look elsewhere. Wolves are another club who panicked and paid the price. They may still be a PL club now if they had kept faith with Mad Mick.
I don't think we'd miss him as he was last season and I wasn't really that impressed by him in the season before - he did show occasional flashes of great skill but his overall contribution wasn't that good. However, I do think that if his confidence is boosted he does have the potential to be an excellent player in the future. On balance I'd prefer him to stay and do well for City but I wouldn't be too disappointed if he did move on for a substantial fee with a good "sell on" clause.
I wouldn't want him to go to a championship rival but if Celtic put a decent bid in then hopefully the transfer money could be utilised
Might not have helped having a former team mate as your boss. It may have lead him to breeze through games, rather than play well, because he knew he'd still get picked anyway. Barmby might have been to chummy with him and it stopped him dropping Stewart for a while and giving him a ticking off.
Given that when he played last season we effectively had 10 men on the pitch, I'd say selling him to Lesta or Wolves, gives us an advantage. Especially if Wolves are willing to let Hammil come the other way.
I'd miss him, good player, just has poor confidence, but if a bid higher than 2M came in I can't see the Allams rejecting it, unless they know he has potential and keep to their word of no players leaving at all promise
he's got more to offer, if he performs next season we'll make more of a profit.. in any case he won't be sold before a new manager is installed and he'll want to look at the players himself in training etc.
