I like Swansea but all we owe them is.. The compensation agreed for their manager. sig isn't their player, if it isn't us (and he would need to actually fit out future team not just join because he was their best player) somebody else will take him. Do we say bad rival very bad rival? Why; We've not helped Swansea.
Having said that; my romantic side would love him to say I'm staying at Swansea. As I said in an other thread; it doesn't happen often loyalty but it does happen.
I hope we get Siggy but i dont think for one minuite rogers wouldnt take him and as many of our players and staff as he wants, he has shown himself a few times to be pure self intrested, and dont be fooled by his blarney to you lot he couldnt give a toss about you on his way to as much money and power as he can grab. All in all a very modern thinking ruthless manager good luck with him you`ll need it if (big if)he does well at your club. Ijust hope the rumour that he cant poach our players for at least a year was written into his contract with us.
Whoever signs him better make sure the club shop has a lot more letters in stock for the shirts think I might just get The Sig on mine
Yes i missed the word aiming i was laughing so much, tbh with you i like liverpool and their fans, and to be straight with you i am not that bothered that rodgers has signed to manage liverpool, good luck to him and your club, but the thing is this, rodgers was lucky when he came to swansea, the players were already there and we have been playing the rodgers way a couple of years before he got there, our board are pretty good at recruiting managers as their record shows over the last few years, so we will be very confident of continuing our progress over the coming season, beleive it or not rodgers was actually 4th choice when he took over with us 2 years ago, he has done a good job for us but the structures and playing style were already there before he came to swansea, now the reason i had a chuckle in my last post was because i personally think he will not have the time from liverpool or the fans to get you a top 4 place, he gave an interview in our local rag today and it is littered with references to being given time to change things at anfield, the yanks who own liverpool may not give him that time and have your fans got the patience to wait re hodgson springs to mind
Artist if he is a liverpool player next week, good luck to him, i only want players who are committed to the swans, if he is your player there will be nothing to say, siggy has to decide whats best for him, but the question from a football perspective for siggy will your system and players around him suit his style.
The answer to that in all honesty is yes absolutely he'd fit in just fine with a team that likes to play a passing game as he did with yourselves Mate I hold no beef with The Swans in fact I love having teams like them in the Prem...will I check your games before I watch the ****e that Big Sam (for instance) will serve up next year? Damn right I will...but we all look after our own right? Would I love us to sign him? Yes I would. Will I wish him well if he shows a bit of loyalty and goes back to South Wales? Absolutely. Have I long since learned not to expect much loyalty from modern footballers? Afraid so
Ach only messing with you! I actually without being condescending want you lot to find a replacement & continue onwards & upwards Rather the quality of your club, team & fans in the league than some others. Also meant what I said about your players, I'll accept any our manager gets for us including from you but I do hope you keep them all. Any way enough nice talk: get back on your potty you fan of a Used up no longer a virgin of a club. Your dance better be sexier next year
Is it just me or does Sigurdsson and Diame underwhelm me about as much as Henderson and Adam did last year Shouldnt we be looking for players for players who play for say the top 2/3 in foreign Leagues,Portugal,France,Holland rather than a player who finished 12th and 16th in the prem last season
Not necessarilly. Enrique did good last year for us, one of Uniteds most consistent players Valencia they got from Wigan, players like Jagielka and Baines for the Blues came from below. Isn't it better for us to get two players for half the price of a Downing or Henderson? Not so sure about Diame but as cover for Lucas on a free then I won't grumble too much and if someone like Sig comes in for the same price as Adam but he's younger and probably as good now as Adam (if not better) then seems like good sense to me. If this is the only investment in the squad then I can see why there would be an issue but to fill a couple of squad positions for under 10mill surely frees up more cash to go buy the better players from those leagues you mentioned
I think the Sig will probably follow Brendon. Don't know if he will make it at a 'big' club but he did spice things up with us. I'd prefer the Sig to go rather than Allen or Briton who are far more crucial to our game. Still fancy a punt on Brendon to win the sack race as I cant see you lot giving him time, he's only just been announced and he's asking for time already! It was different with us, only had to keep us up to become a legend.
