North West Tonight just claimed he wants him and as far as I'm aware nothing has been signed with Swansea yet (potentially complete BBC crapola obviously). Would be a double blow for them if true though but I for one would love this to be true the kids got rocket fuel in them there boots
The transfer window isn't open yet so I don't think anything can be signed, no medical etc. Only agree terms with a club and wait till the window is open. Don't know the facts but this is what I assume, would be a great signing imo.
Last I heard, Swansea were still confident of the deal going through. I rate Sigurdsson, but can he step up another level for a top 4 aiming team?
I sneaked onto their board to see if they were confident of signing him anymore they ain't. I have no evidence other than a Beeb snippet but if true I for one will be happy
Wouldn't be a blow for us as he is not a Swansea player! Not sure that he is better than what you have already got. He played well for us in certain matches eg Fulham, Bolton, but went missing in some matches - notably Liverpool!
I hope we don't. I wouldn't like that at all. That would be a very underhand move by Rodgers and Liverpool. Swansea have been top class in all of this, especially when compared to Dave Whelan so they wouldn't deserve this at all. I hope we don't go for him purely on principle.
More than the manager going, but that's what it's all about at Swansea. The method of football runs throughout he club. I've seen U12's passing across the back four. A manager will come in and have to play the same way so not a lot is lost in the playing style and tactics. A lot can still go wrong with a mistake with the manager but the ethos of the club is set and it's brilliant to see, very much like the old pass and move of Liverpool. Swansea will go on but us robbing a player is worse than taking the manager.
Whilst I agree to a certain extent....this is the real world. Football's a brutal business. Will our rivals be namby pambying around while we're being polite and principalled? Doubt it....and whilst I await the inevitable "we've lost our soul retort" it's a dog eat dog world in the transfer market and always has been. This is nothing new and it's happened to us plenty of times.
He will be and if he does sign for Swansea he'll cost someone double if they want him this time next year so why not get in there now and give him a go. Seriously not having a go at Jordan Henderson but at half the price and about the same as Adam cost for a talented 22 year old can't be bad.
I'm not going to cry or anything if we sign him but Lucaaas is right when it come to doing the right thing we should probably walk away, but like others are saying it's a cut throat world and if he's good enough Rodgers will look to sign him.

Ask yourself if other clubs would do it to us given half a chance? If they haven't done the deal yet then it's fair game. Yes I feel sorry for their fans (if it's true which I stress again I know not) but as I said I'll get over it.
HEARING YOUR POINT BILLY, LOUD AND CLEAR. The problem I have with it is I read on the Swansea board that Liverpool once gave them a fair amount of money a long time ago to stop them going out of business. We've also seen a lot of Liverpool legends play for them and manage them. I just think it'd be a shame to ruin the link we have with them over a player who really isn't an improvement on our current goalscoring midfielder (Gerrard). £6.8m for a goalscoring mf is excellent value though.
I know, which is why I won't be crying in my beer if we do get him, he's top class. the principle is right but if he suits us then so be it.
He's not their player though so surely it's more finders keepers than outright theft We've needed cover for Stevie for years so maybe he wouldn't walk straight into the first team but given time this would prove a good signing IMO
You are right - he is not our player and no one could complain. But spare a thought to HIS logic. He will be playing for Brendan Rogers - not Liverpool. He is following the coach, not the Club.
Fair comment again I will live with that as most of them just play for themselves these days anyway so at least he'll be playing for something
