Nobody compared him to Marlon King and Ched Evans. What I said was not all good footballers are good people. I gave those two as examples. You should read the context in which posts are written. A hero is a guy who rescues his mates from under enemy fire at risk to his own life, not a guy who gets £19k a week for playing football.
"the allams have really tarnished Barmby and his career. if he had not been appointed he would have eventually retired, fans would have applauded him and thanked him or his services. Instead he's left through the back door like a criminal, all this because of the Allams. it's a disgrace , there's no excuse for it in my book. I'm certainly not in love with barmby, there are others like him but he didn't deserve to leave this way and he certainly doesn't deserve any fans supporting those responsible for the shambles. theyve made him look like a bad man, implied he'd been lying and all this after his first err managerial job. I don't support that at all. " My view as well though I have given up with putting this point across because there are people who think the Allam's can do or say no wrong because they are rich enough to buy the club. Time will tell however.
Hi Guys.... Not that it's any of my business but looking in from the outside I would say that your current owners, although locals, brought HCAFC as a stepping stone to wanting to buy the KC stadium off the local council ? Since that failed, all & sundry are now paying the price, especially AP & NB ! They are probably trying to cut costs wherever possible, to make it a viable attractive proposition for an overseas investor ? Some of you guys have ridiculed our Thai owners but on a few occasions they have rewarded the fans ie buying our away fans a pint/pie for their support @ next home game ! could go on and on these guys have been the real deal ! Thoughts ?
Bit too local that attitude Tyger I think and I wouldn't mind the Allams making up to the fans for how they dispatched Nicky, have you watched our play-off final win video lately mate, theres Nicky in the build-up to the goal, Nicky on the bench with Deano, get a heart mate he had his heart in the club for 8 years and didnt deserve to be chucked away like a spare part
Seriously, use the frigging return key to form paragraphs, I'm not going all gramma nazi but it would make stuff so much easier to read. Right, my point, you're putting the blame 100% on the Allams. Some of us actually believe Nick was just as responsible. At worst its 50-50. Those of us you're accusing of taking sides haven't, its you that has, we simply believe that the truth lies between the version we know and the version we assume will come out at some point and that it was six of one and half a dozen of the other that caused it, the blame doesnt lie in one place. The Allams take some responsibility for this but Nick has to shoulder some too. I like the point about being a hero before that post too, spot on. Footballers are idols not heroes. My view as well though I have given up with putting this point across because there are people who think the Allam's can do or say no wrong because they are rich enough to buy the club. Time will tell however.
Good to hear someone sticking up for mthe Allams for a change ! ! The Allams don't come on this forum, so cannot defend themselves from these knockers. Probably got a bit more sense than that lot I refuse to knock them as we are all on the outside looking in BUT thet ARE on the inside looking out ! Knowing a lot more than we do. Why did AP pump money into HullFC and then have the audacity to email Hull City season passholdewrs to encourage their support for HullFC. In any other company surely that's a case for dismisal. We were told by Nick on a number of occasions, that no new firepower was needed as we had enough already ! This, at a time when we could all see that the team was drawing and losing too many matches and dropping points leading to the inefitable, dropping out of the top six. Could this be why we are now looking for a new manager ? Especially if funds were available in january, as the Allams insist ! The next few days may give us all the answers we are looking for ! Then let's all get behind the new manager and show him some true Hull City support
No - Nick was sacked only for his comments to the media - which is a really bad way to get rid of him If they sacked him for footballing reasons (which remember, they didn't), then whether we agreed or not, that is their right and I think most of us could have understood it more, but this comments to the media/disrepecting the Allam family name rubbish is just embarrassing and an insult to Nick.
crap http://oxforddictionaries.com/definition/hero?q=hero hero Pronunciation: /ˈhɪərəʊ/ noun (plural heroes) 1a person, typically a man, who is admired for their courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities: a war hero the chief male character in a book, play, or film, who is typically identified with good qualities, and with whom the reader is expected to sympathize: the hero of Kipling’s story (in mythology and folklore) a person of superhuman qualities and often semi-divine origin, in particular one whose exploits were the subject of ancient Greek myths. 2 (also hero sandwich) North Americananother term for hoagie. people choose their own heroes by their own criteria, not yours or that of some other committee of the pompous. if my heroes are footballers or guitar players or writers or actors or engine drivers, that's my business. the oxford defintion above says "outstanding achievements" and that's for me to decide and not for someone else to have the arrogance to dictate to me.
the allams didn't tarnish barmy's name but in the eyes of many they dropped a pile of ****e on their own.
Madhog the bit you quoted from me was not actually my post but taken from the post above from Tyger Tyger which is why there were quote marks at the beginning and end of that paragraph. I was just agreeing with it.
As a young man, my hero was Joe Strummer, to my knowledge he never entered a burning building to rescue anyone.
“It is an extremely unfortunate end to a great period with the Club although the Club would like the supporters to remember Nick for his playing career and the part he played in the Club’s promotions.” no mention of his managment skills....
I'm losing my way. I was of course quoting Circa not TygerTyger but what the hell, its all getting too much all this speculation and arguing just waiting for something to happen.
It just made me laugh you going on about what a hero he is to you and you spelt his name wrong was all See? They did him a favour after all, its better we remember him for the things he was actually good at.
