Although most of the talk is about a new Chairman / owner, what we really need is a new midfielder who is creative, dynamic, enthusiastic, fit, delivers accuracy, experienced, professional, controlling, captain-material, mentor, .... a true leader.

    Any other adjectives/nouns?

And any realistic suggestions? You know - 28 to 30 years old, nickable for a reasonable fee, payable at slightly higher than our usual wage but wants to make a statement

I have the lad, but he will cost us big style. His name is Scott Brown and he is currently the captain of Celtic.

Hmmm. Dunno. Joey Barton with a modicum of restraint, isn't he? Not convinced.

A player with those attributes would be very expensive nowadays

Darren Fletcher if he comes back from his illness, I'm sure his days at Man Utd are close to ending.

Fletcher is probably the most overrated player in a scum shirt I have ever seen. And theres been some ****ing overrated players in Scum shirts for years, the guy is useless and I would seriously prefer a hell of alot of players who are on frees at the moment

I don't think Fletcher will play again. Got 2 mates with the same condition. It doesn't get better - you've got it for life.

And Josh, I do disagree with you re. Fletcher. Stands up & is counted at international level. Class act.

<laugh> I do think Graham Dorrans is a good player and will be very good for Leeds United. Would you include him under the 'nickable for a reasonable fee' bracket, i'm not sure to be honest how much we could get him for.

I have lost all interest in international football particularly those countries that are not England so am not going to comment on his performances for Scotland. However for the Scum hes **** and wouldn't get into pretty much every PL team, why would we want him as the 'bigger wages, captain material' like player in our team when IMO there are better players for free

Gattuso's looking for a new challenge abroad, he'd do a great job for a couple of years. Btw Carrick's the most overrated scum player.

Typically, Boab only recommends Scotch players.

Correct Bob but why On earth would Scott forego champions league football to ply his trade with us. Like it or not, were a hell of a long way behind Celtic in pulling power. Nice idea though

Champion's League Football with Celtic is like getting set up on a blind date with a model only to find out she's a very, very plus size model.

Technically you went on a date with a model, but was it really worth it?

Fair point but Celtic have won Europes top competition in the past, something they are rightly very proud of, so they take competing in it every season seriously. Unlike rangers, Celticc have a sensible wage structure which means there is a limit to the level of player that they can attract. I'd still say Scott Brown won't swap playing Real Madrid in the Champions League for hacking it around with Charlton or Huddersfield next season

So the "we need a new Strachan" went past you then did it? Like many Leeds supporters, I'm very aware that most if not all of the glory years for Leeds United have included a wee Scotsman as captain in the heart of the midfield, hence why I suggested Scotsmen. <doh>

Another one to consider and one I have already suggested we get anyway, Ian Black (formerly of Hearts).

Was impressed with quite a few Hearts players in there cup final win. Dont really watch enough Scottish Footy to make a call if they could handle the Championship though if I'm honest <ok>
