Owen is now a free agent after being released by United and is under consideration at Rangers. Stoke City chairman Peter Coates has also expressed interest in the former Real Madrid and Liverpool forward.
mentioned it earlier on another thread. Loads of activity on Twitter coming in from all media and fans. Not sure if i want him but if fit he does score goals.
Horses? London? Injuries? Desire? Wages? All seem like likely negatives to me. Positives he scores goals and has vast experience that could make him a very good man to have on the bench, probably better than DJ anyway.
It's probably a misprint, what it meant to say was Mark Hughes is interested in getting Owen Hargreaves as cover for Keiron Dyer!
Would be good back up for Cissé. He's a proven goalscorer and if we can get him on a rolling contract, 20 games a year, I think he'd be a good buy.
He'll go to another northern club - he's far too keen on the gee-gees he owns to want to move himself, his family and his horses down south.
Did Owen and Cisse play together at Liverpool? I've always been a fan and if it was financially viable I'd take him, his goal ratio for Utd was pretty good considering the time he had on the pitch.
Bear in mind he was playing for ManUre who would be providing probably three to four times as many chances than he would get at the average team so he perhaps isn't quite as clinical as he was. I don't think we should be chasing potential hospital cases or Faurlin & Dyer might think we're having a party...
Whilst I agree that we should be looking at young, promising players, I would take Owen over DJ, Bothroyd and Johnson all day long!!
