Hope not, poyet is the hot favourite I think, be a damned shame if we take him off Brighton though as we will be doing the same as Liverpool with us, but needs must.

Maybe he was the puppet-master and Martinez was the puppet and Huw know this??

Wasn't he a coach at Barnet or Boston or somewhere like that before he was brought in as Martinez's assistant after Jackett left?
He would've had experience then and would only have gained alot more by working with Bobby for the last ~5 years.
He'll do nicely! IN HUW WE TRUST

Two betting sites I checked showed him at 1/5 and 1/10 !!

I don't want to underestimate the man but he's hardly covered himself in glory, perpetually dodging relegation with Wigan ever since he went there with RM. What sort of track record is that? And what happened to looking at La Liga for managerial talent?

I hope that Huw isn't looking for a cheap option here looking to bank Liverpool's compo. A good manager is VITAL for our survival and this guy just doesn't have the credentials for me. Poyet, my original choice is down at 6/1 but he has far more about him than Jones, imo. I have bad feelings about this. Big time.

Holloway is at 8/1, Ole Gunnar and Laudrup at 14/1 depending which site you look at. I was hoping for a "name" guy who would attract quality players to the club and I can't see Jones inspiring many to come to us. For instance, I don't think his appointment would encourage Siggy to complete his deal whereas the likes of Laudrup or Poyet might well do.

This will disappoint many fans and might well impact on season ticket sales. Bad choice for me.

I agree. Very bad news if these odds are reflected in reality.

Ivor, Martinez was odds on last week for the Liverpool job and look who went there.

On the sbject of jones for manager. I would be 100% gutted. Yes we looked at him when we were in the championship. Now we are the 11th best team in the country. We can do way better than this. To be honestIi am not very impressed with all who have been linked with us. I have no doubt that HJ will yet again pull somone out of left field. So come on Huw lets find another gem no one is expecting.

get a life fool ...sour grapes in over drive on here. i bet Rodgers if he ever reads this is glad he has left with the amount of numpty kids he has as pretend fans....he has gone and jinks will go for the cheap option if you have not learned that by now then there is something radically wrong with you....get over it....

This is the first time HJ has had a massive desicion to make in terms of SCFC. All the other appointments have been when we were in the lower leagues and he could afford to take a chance. Now we have reached the promised land, the choice he makes is the biggest to date as he will stand or fall by that desicion. I am sure we will for once not take the cheap option. But, i also think it will be somone that we have not considered. I hope anyway.
