My fantasy footballing philosophy evolved as the season went on which saw me shoot up the league in the 2nd half of the season. If I can carry out my newly developed approach then next season will see a new force. The Artist will NOT be the envy of the forum once more!
Priceless. Pepe Reina isn't as good as Vorm? He had a poor season and yet still conceded less than your goalkeeper. Carragher barely gets in our team. Adams is a player i am not familiar with Carroll (funny how Graham isn't in the England squad), Downing (same with Sinclair) and Henderson would all get in your team in various ways and you know it. Kuyt is getting on but played in the last World Cup final so is good enough for the Dutch but not Swansea? Talk about an inflated opinion of yourselves, i thought that was what we got told about ourselves.
Now that's wrong on so many levels Aaaaaaaaaaanyway....I gotta laugh at the Vorm being better than Reina post, you can't be serious right??? He's been one of, if not THE most consistent keepers in the Prem for a number of years now so just because he had a poor season (relatively speaking) doesn't mean Vorm's anywhere near his league yet. I've seen a few dodgy keepers at Anfield over the years and I've seen some world class ones. Reina is most definitely one of the latter
Nips, facts is facts, 4 points in the bag. King Kenny had to remind your flops that the round thing was the ball at half time at The Liberty. How much was Adam exactly? You can have Graham for £20 mil as back up for Carroll. Fact is our squad was assembled for a darnside less than you paid for Carroll. Our club has no debt, can you say the same. Our club is owned and run by a local lad, can you say the same. Remember what Brendon did at Reading? Brendon inherited a team at Swansea that were all comfortable on the ball, most Liverpool players look scared of it and want to offload it. When at Reading he had hardly won a game by Christmas and players couldnt adapt, have scouse fans got patience? If King Kenny can get the bullet, how uncertain is Brendon's future? As for having an inflated opinion of SCFC nothing could be further from the truth, its only the second time in my lifetime we have reached the top flight and I know each moment there is precious for us and not likely to last long. It does not take away from the fact that half of your team could not play our way or get into the Swans team. The only measure is last season and we took 4 points from you. Can we play you every week?
Having better/more expensive players doesn't mean they'll adapt to Rodgers' tactics easily. For one, Chelsea's players wouldn't be able to. Rodgers spent time hand-picking players for his system. Liverpool fans seem to think that the posts from the Swansea fans are saying you have crap players - when they aren't. Clearly they aren't rubbish, but they are not all ideal for the type of football Rodgers had Swansea playing. (Eg. Gerrard may be better than Allen, but not better at Rodgers' style of play) He may have more money to buy expensive players, but he may decide that some of the players at Swansea who already know his system are better suited.
I would take Sigurdsson off them and if Sinclair was going for around £5mil I would take him other than that I dont think any of them are fit to wear a Liverpool shirt. Just because they play well for Swansea does not mean they would be good at a big club where there is a lot more pressure.
The way I see it is: If you'd have swapped the whole Liverpool squad with the whole Swansea squad but kept just Suarez, Skrtel and Johnson . You'd have finished higher than 8th last year imo.
Er... Agger and Enrique are better than their Swansea counterparts, Lucas is a quality defensive midfielder and would walk into most teams in the PL. Reina has his worst season in a long time and Vorm has a fantastic season, yet the fact they're still diving opinion shows how good Reina still is. He'll step up next year and show his worth. So, Reina, Enrique, Johnson, Agger, Skrtel, Lucas and Suarez. The rest of the spots can be filled by Swansea players.
Either one.. Wouldn't make much difference to the system really... I'm not saying they Swansea have better players, but if the team read: Gk: either RB: Johnson CB:Williams CB:Skrtel LB:Taylor CM:Allen CM:Britton CAM:Gylfi WF:Suarez CF:Graham WF:Sinclair If this team lined up in Liverpool shirts last season and had Rodgers as coach they would not have finished as low as 8th. The point i'm making is: Gerrard may be better than Allen but that doesn't mean he'd fit the system better than Allen does.
There's no debate who's better on paper or man for man. But i'm talking about the system. If you added all of those names to the Swansea team - they wouldn't play anything like Swansea do....They'd pretty much play like Liverpool did last year. Take Dortmund and Bayern for example. One could argue " Robben, Gomez, Ribery, Muller and Lahm should all get into Dortmund's team." But if they all were in Dortmund's team they wouldn't play the kind of football Dortmund play. Dortmund may not have massive names but they play the system better than Bayern's superstars ever could.
I still fail to see your point here. I'm not talking about on paper, that back 5 (Lucas, not Reina) are just as suited to that system than the Swansea lot. Lucas is an amazing player for breaking up play, keeping the ball and feeding it upfield to the creative players. Agger is one of the best ball playing CBs in the league, just plagued by injury. I'm amazed you even chose Skrtel in that setup as I see him as the weakest in a passing, possession game...
My point wasn't about the specific names so much... Essentially my point is : Rodgers moving to Liverpool and working with "better" players doesn't mean you'll play "better" football than swansea. This is what the Swansea fans have tried to tell you guys. But they get brushed off with " We have much better players than you guys" or " None of your players are good enough for us" My point is that swansea's team would only have needed a couple of your players and they would have done better than you last season. Your defence may have gotten onto their team sheet, but they wouldn't have needed them in order to do better than you.... And to be fair, the defensive half of a possesion team get the easy job. Do you not agree that Gerrard, despite being the better player, is not as suited to "tiki taka" as Allen? Ronaldo may be better than Pedro, but Pedro is better suited to Barca's game, isn't he?
If BR wants to bring a goalscorer to Anfield he could do worse than bring this fella with him
I never mentioned Gerrard once here because I don't think he's suited, so yes, I agree...I just said our back 5 are better and just as suited to the style of play. Their forward 5 (except for Suarez) are better suited than ours, and this is what Rodgers needs to work on. You say they only need a couple of players to have done better, I'm saying they could have taken 6 of our players and done EVEN better than that. Thus, half our starting 11 don't need to adapt as much as people make out. They're already suited.
Danny Graham is the only player Liverpool should look to take from Swansea. They should also try and buy Gylfi Ãór Sigurðsson from TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.
Fair enough... The defensive players in a possesion team have much easier job than the attacking to be fair, especially with aggresive pressing. However yeah, your defence would do a better job. The point I was making was really to the guys telling the Swansea fans "We have better players so we'll be fine" or " We don't need any of your players, we finished above you" when they outplayed you comfortably. As stupid as it may sound - If you offered Rodgers his swansea front line or the Liverpool, he'd probably take the Swansea fowards. The only player who would be an upgrade on his current fowards is Suarez. The same could possibly be said for the midfield too (lucas apart). Obviously though, he'll money to address this. Good appointment anyhow. P.S. You didn't mention Gerrard, but the others did. Two major things Rodgers' system will demand are discipline and patience - two weak points of Gerrard's game.
I am not having go at Liverpool here, but our players made yours look very ordinary twice this season, you were chasing shadows and were outplayed both times. We are very good at the passing game and embarrassed the champions at ours, and beat arsenal playing the same. Out of your entire team I would only bring Suarez to play our way, the rest are not good enough to play our system as it stands. I don't know what has gone wrong at Liverpool as you are not a team I follow that much, but I suspect that you have a team full of players who don't know what team spirit is, we have it in Swansea , and.all the other top teams have it. Perhaps Brendan may fix that for you, but I very much doubt he will be given the time for that and will be a victim of the circus at your club. But he will pocket the money given to him, and so will we, so thanks for the £7m you have paid for him and the 3 back room guys you have taken, we are well up and you have Pascoe thanks !
Taylor at the Swans is a far better left back than anybody you've had since getting rid of Riise. Caulker is a player you should be consider because at 19 he is already a beast who is very capable with the ball at his feet, I would agree with Agger and Skirtel being better at the moment. Rangel constantly lifts his game and this season he is an equal of Johnson. Centre park, Britton, Allen and Sigurdsson play a far better passing game than anyone youve got. On the wings, Dyer and Sinclair both win a place with their passing, pace and defensive covering. Up front, Graham must beat Carroll, Graham works harder and scores more. In our style of football it is critical the goalkeeper can use his feet, Vorm plays as a sweeper on occasion and is great there under pressure. This season he has surpassed Reina, who is a fantastic keeper, Vorm's shot stopping has been unsurpassed as you must have witnessed at Anfield. A big 'if' but if we had Suarez we would be top 6, 'if' we could have held Borini at the end of last season we would have finished top six this year, how nobody in the UK could see that talent and bid for it I do not know. I hope this year we can find a manager who continues our style of play and brings in young talent, we only have to finish 17th for the season to be a success. Artist I was at that game and we got a real drubbing after a well deserved draw at the Vetch, a mate who organised the trip up was shouting, come on and waving at us to get out early at the end of the game. The rozzers thought he was shouting 'come on' to Liverpool fans and arrested him! Capped off a terrible day!
Caulker was on loan at Swansea from Spurs so they can't consider him,and in our 1st team squad for the coming Season apprently
