If he wasn't interested in going, we would of released some sort of statement. If he wants to talk to them, I see no reason why he'll turn them down. He'll get more money and a new challenge. Everybody's perfect scenario in a new job.<ok>

Well so far everyone else who has talked to them has then gone on to turn them down. Perhaps there's no good reason for that at all

Goddam guys I'm not saying he's gone or not yet

Why everyone thinks he's gone is beyond me, bizzare

Let him talk to villa.

serious question beefy, how do you think McNally would feel about being blackmailed into letting permission for them to talk. Doing that will almost bring an end to any working relationship they might have had in the past.

I think Lee Clarke or Ian Holoway would be great for you if Paul Lambert has gone, but I hope it is bull as he has done so well for you, it would be hard for many to emulate that.

I think you've got more chance of being bitten by a Daffodil than that wrecker of teams coming any closer than say about 44.5 miles of Carrow Road <laugh>

I don't see why Malky is so hotly-tipped. I appreciate that he's a bit of a legend for you guys on the pitch, but managerially he has shown himself to be solid but unspectacular.

I have more time for Malky than I do for the new Liverpool manager. But looking at it objectively, Brendan Rodgers brought in or improved most of the players that Malky relied on (with the notable exception of John Eustace), and led us to a better finish than Malky ever did. In the month that Malky left to join Cardiff, we sold our top scorer, top assist maker and most creative player for a combined total of £4.5m, and got a further windfall of ~£1.8m from Ashley Young. Sean Dyche spent £1.2m of that on completely rebuilding the squad, and finished in the top half of the table.

And although he deserves credit for a Carling Cup run (beating two lower league clubs, three Championship clubs, and one of the most hapless Premier League clubs of recent years), his league record is worse than Dave Jones' last two years.

Malky is now the latest 11/8 favourite with Hughton drifting out to 5/2. A couple of new names have been added to the list, Culverhouse is now 6/1 joint third favourite (with Steve Bruce) and Dougie Freedman is 16/1.

I would imagine the bookies have just realised Malky used to play for us, so shortened the odds.

I highly doubt we will have done anything about a new boss yet.

Ranieri, Houllier and Benitez are all available <whistle>

Whoever replaces Lambert, if in fact he goes, will have been thoroughly scouted, prodded, probed, question and whatever else McNally deems necessary in the interview process

Whoever we go for I hope it is not some journeyman manager who as failed elsewhere but an up and coming manager with the drive for success. McNally has a good record of appointing managers so far, Hodgeson at Fulham and then Lambert both did pretty well so I have faith he will make the right decision.
