I thought he was actually good, but then when you see Grayson got them up he doesn't seem anywhere near as good haha.
he lived off that unbeaten run, which although impressive in itself, when studied closer contained numerous draws against poor opponents. they were dire to watch - long ball football, couldn't defend for toffee and he had rucks with players. would be a bad appointment but DOES fit the young and hungry description the club will look for, so may be considered. i just hope he doesn't get the job. there aren't many who i would feel worried with but he is one of them
Think my number 1 is Hughton, we need to act fast, worst thing about this is the fact Swansea are also managerless.
Well, assuming something has happened, is happening or will happen to make Lambert leave I's like to see either Poyet or Larry as our next manager - Malky gets the sentimental vote of course but I like Poyet's style and have always rated Larry. Not Steve Bruce please .... legend when he played for us but not such a success as a manager and I'd like to see a young and keen manager at CR next hence my two preferred choices. Could be an interesting day or two ahead but I am sure McInally has a contingency plan that is already well in train by now ...
Here are some current odds - almost at the bottom of the page. Hughton ahead by a whisker, at the moment - Steve Bruce too close for comfort at 5/1 http://www.skybet.com/football/specials/manager-specials
bruce will be high in the betting simply cos people who know little about our setup will plump for him because he is ex-norwich and a 'big name'. if he gets the gig then we may as well all give up. thankfully, it won't happen
As much as there isnt anything official to say PL has left or that he has agreed to join AV, i still feel there is just too much abt it now for it to be a non-story. So, i am making my peace and moving on. I think worry for 10 seconds abt a Lambert-less NCFC, then get on with the job at hand. My thoughts on potential next manager, 1. in the unlikely even Culverhouse doesnt follow PL, i would quite fancy him for the job. Slightly risky, but it would add a bit of continuity to the team. 2. Malkay would be the hearts choice, but we've tried this before and it hasnt worked. But Malkay's stock is rising so now could be the time. Poyet and Holloway are possibilities as well. Certainly Bruce is a no-go for me.
I heard that Brum want £2.5m compensation for Houghton should he leave...can't see you paying that Mick McCarthy?
If McNally thinks he's the man for the job they'll pony up the money some of it will come from the inevitable compo from Lambert going
This is ****ing hilarious. None of the aforementioned clowns are held in the same regard as the overrated Lambert. McCarthy, Bruce or why not John Gregory
what regard was lambert held in before he joined us? and i think you'll find chris hughton is extremely highly rated by many. fact is, when you get a manager as good as that they are hard to replace, but you get the next best possible manager avaialble to you and then you let them progress their career and see where they can take you. if you honestly think we'll be managed by mccarthy, bruce or anyone like that then you're even more dopey than you're posts consistently profess
Am I the only one not interested in Chris Hughton? I can see he did a good job at Newcastle and Brum, but I personally just don't fancy him, particularly if he'd cost us £2.5m. I'd love to see Zola come here, I really would - let's get a bit of excitement going again!!
Chris Hughton has managed in the Premier League and did very well and was very popular at Newcastle. He's done well at Birmingham since, so he has to be the best man available, surely? We're not going to employ anybody from the Premier League and I doubt we'll employ anyone from League One or below, so that leaves the Championship or unemployed managers. Anyone who thinks he hasn't gone or about to go, listen to that silence from the club and Lambert himself.
