Why shouldn't they chase the money? If I was offered a higher paid contract elsewhere, I would jump at it. The same applies here. The argument that they already have a shed load of cash does not work. It is all relative and a few million in the bank to them is nothing in the grand scheme of things.
So basically, they will have no work in the future, priced the fans out of the game, end of football . Start all over again. might be a good thing. I wont see it in my lifetime, but maybe you will.
I completely agree with this, I understand why footballers move for the money. I would if I was offered 200K a week - anybody in the right mind would, especially at the age of 31. What I don't like is footballers who say they love the club, then leave for a 'better club' - alas Bent & Gyan. Those 2 I do not agree about - they are just creedy f**ks

Money isn't the be all & end all for me. I turned down a job in Clydebank that was offering me an extra 5 grand a year purely for personal reasons.

To be fair to Andy Johnson, he's not ever going to get a chance to a) Sign for a club who will challenge for honours in England, and b) force his way into the England team. So I wouldn't class this guy as a sell out, he's basically been offered stupid money to play football in a hot climate for a few years, which may also prolong his career or at least help his injury status of being a crock. There's a difference to this and Gyan who had the world at his feet 12 months prior to joining Camel Rovers.
As Terry says, Johnson is only gonna slide down the ladder. If someone is mug enough to give him £80-100 a week, he'd be right to snap their mitten off. That's not greed, that's ****ing sense!
