Rumours on twitter he has walked out after bust up resulting from being refused permission to speak to the Vile
http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...Norwich-after-furious-row-over-Villa-job.html It's actually a full write up on the article, I actually am slightly worried with that. We'll find out tomorrow I guess. Charlie Wyett (Norwich fan) just tweeted "Good luck to Paul Lambert at Aston Villa. I am sure he will do a top job. Three great years at Norwich" Ummm sh!t?
I'm a little uneasy that this might actually be true. Surely that's too big a story to publish if there's nothing in it? McNally'd sue their asses to hell and back. Edit: Talksport are apparently reporting it now too. Still going to wait for an official club line before going mental, but I can't say I like this. Then again I said the same about the Holt fiasco, and he's still at the club, despite rumours that he wanted a move to club x,y,z. But then I also don't have Lambert down as the type to throw his toys out of the pram.
I unfortunately think it is myself, it's all over twitter now. Will be slightly annoyed if he has walked out after row! I will say it now whenever he leaves we all have to wish him best of luck and move on, we are in a great position and we still have McNally, don't think this is the end of the world. (If true, which I have a feeling may well be)
The sun are the only paper running with it, i wouldn't rule out it all being a twitter hoax that they've bitten on yet.
Yep, if he has gone, good luck to him wherever he goes (except in the away dugout of CR), and hopefully we can bring in a quality replacement. McNally isn't stupid, I'd imagine he'd already got a few names together in case the worst happened, and if it has, then hopefully we're a fairly attractive proposition for other ambitious managers. Still, a shame that if it has ended, it's happened this way.
Charlie Wyett, Norwich fan who has mostly been accurate with his tweets has said his farewell to him on twitter. I hope your right anyway Kyle.
If this is true, in the space of 24 hours, 2 promising young managers have thrown their careers away by taking sideways moves, no real career advancement. Villa are in freefall, Norwich is surely a more attractive proposition, and the liverpool fans won't accept a manager unless he's Scottish and has the initials KD, something Krendan Dodgers doesn't have.
ESPN going with the rather more cautious 'reports are saying that...' line, and the Sun are the closest to a genuine news outlet I can find saying it's definite. Didn't Lambert do an interview a couple of days ago saying he's happy at the club?
He's not tweeted that he's actually quit, he's said that if he does leave then Malky would be a potential replacement. It's either a cleverly worded tweet so he can't get in trouble for it if it's wrong, but still makes him look like he's breaking news, or I'm trying to read too much into it in the hope he's still at the club.
Sad to hear that Lambert has gone, he has been such a good manager for you, good luck in getting a new manager.
Surely as good as from a top journalist. I think your probably right but imminent as in waiting to be officially announced, also noticed Grant Holt retweeted something earlier. I am going to watch SSN now, I have day off tomorrow, going to spend it sulking if this is true. I just cannot get my head around why he would want to go there, yeah they are a bigger club but going in the wrong direction? Hope he is a success there don't get me wrong, wish him all the best and am extremely grateful for what he has done for the club but I am just puzzled.
Still nothing official, the EDP have nothing, and none of the articles I've read have anything vaguely resembling a quote, so I'm not abandoning all hope yet. Very curious where this story has come from and I can't imagine Lambert quitting at midnight. Although this is mainly just optimistic speculation. I also liked a comment I saw on twitter which says that Stephen Fry hasn't said anything yet, and he lives on twitter...
