It's just nice to get a reply mate, it was quiet last year on some threads buts that's ok. What do you think of us getting Rodgers as manager?

As HOADIE says pretty quiet on here right now as we have no manager and not much is going on. Talking of managers and your question about Rodgers, I personally feel he could be a fantastic manager for you, given time of course, it may take a while to get the blend of players he wishes to have at the club to play how he wants and when that happens you could, once again, be a real force but here and in Europe, but like I said he will have to be given time.
Yeah I think Rodgers should be good for you, he has done a great job at Swansea and should do one for you, just hope he don't get that syndrome where a manager from a smaller club struggles at a bigger one, like Roy did when he come from Fulham.
Cheers mate, I remember you from last year. As fans we didn't give Roy time because of the style of football he played this shouldn't be a problem with Rodgers. The owners will be the worry, they don't seem to be so patient.
From watching him over the last season he seems very calm and confidant, he handled the media well. It is going to be very different but I hope he just continues in this way and doesn't let the pressure get to him.
The "give the manager time" thing was more a generalisation in terms of football rather than a comment about Liverpool. I don't think clubs, fans etc are willing to wait, sometimes you need to take a step back before you before you can take strides forward.
We are really at that point now, we need to let Rodgers build over a few seasons or we could find ourselves in a lot of trouble. How are you lot getting on?
I do think it will take him time to get going, I think he needs at least a season to start building and I don't think you will see the best till the second season so time will tell, it looks like he wants to bring Gylfi Sigurðsson, seems strange as I thought he had signed up with Swansea, he would be a great player I think and at his price of around 6 million a lower rate risk, something which could pay off. I think the key is that you don't pay too much money for players, Gillingham are getting on OK, we are looking for our new manager, we should have one in place very soon, maybe in the next week or two.
I think, well this is the feeling I get anyway and it is just my assumption, that we feel rather in limbo at the moment. No manager, players gone, no sign of anyone coming in (as we have no idea what type of player the new manager coming in wants), players we'd like to come being linked elsewhere, it's just all very frustrating Still hopefully once this chairman's conference thing in Portugal (why? Should be closer to home!) is over with hopefully the new manager will be announced. Are you surprised about the number of Liverpool players in the England squad? I mean that really had that good a season overall. Downing has been poor by his standards and his place should have gone to Matty Jarvis (who was one of only 2 players at Wolves to show any quality), Henderson like wise, he's not been any where near good enough as I'm sure you'd have hoped he would have been, Glen Johnson for another. I accept that my views are more based on MOTD, football first and what's in Newspapers rather than having seen their proformances first hand but they really have been below par this season and had they been excluded no one would really have questioned it would they.
You are right on Downing he has been poor. Johnson has improved a lot though and probably deserves his place. Why on earth Henderson is there is beyond me, he's one for the future but not even ready for our first team never mind international footy.
